    SDB developers please read

Can you please take note of the following and have words with the publisher.

Bunker Hill was advertised on Avsim a few weeks back, which took me to the following page:

    http://www.sky-sim.co.uk/catalog/pro...products_id=56

There are no images of this addon on this page...the page that was linked to from Avsim...the product page.

At the beginning of August I applied for more information on the SkySIM forums and received no reply or help (with the exception of a "bump" from Jim today, although I now believe he's resigned):

    http://www.sky-sim.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=298

If Jim hadn't replied today, I would have forgotten all about this product, in fact I had. So please do yourselves and SkySIM a favour and ask them to sort this out before your next project is completed and uploaded, then us customers can see what it is you're wanting us to buy.

    Many thanks.
    Cheers,

    Nick

I'd also like to add a footnote.

This post is not meant to start a big flaming war, it's just constructive criticism, the FS community is having enough problems at the moment without FS Devs making it hard on themselves
    Cheers,

    Hi Nick

You are right of course. I have talked to Gordon about thumbnails linked to screenshots. It's Skysim that has to fix the problem we at SDB have no access to the site source code etc.. There was a problem but TBH I forgot what it was.

I have all the screenshots so I'll take it up with Gordon again.

If the software used for the shop is difficult Mickey, even a simple html link to a separate page would be advantageous. Thanks for listening.

Will this Bunker Hill scenery have the AI B-58, like the product you had at the "other" place?

Mickey mate, will all respect to the guys at SkySim but they horribly underestimate the importance of screenshots. Even if implementing nice looking thumbnails and the code for that and all that crap isn't possible right now, then they should be able to even create a temporary ftp folder setup and have a few screenshots on therer just for now, until the problem is fixed. Even if they just put the url's in the product overview posts that would be better than having nothing.

Keep up the good work you guys. Had a couple of your scenery products (I think, never checked the readme's. :redf: )

I too have to add my appologies for the lack of screen shots.
Also if you just go to the main page http://www.skysim.co.uk/home.htm its not even apparent that we have 4 scenery packages available http://www.sky-sim.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=27_26 (and many more to come).

Keep in mind that this is a new company, and things will evolve / improve, but none of us is a web page guru and Mike and I have no access to the web page design, so it's definitely a work in progress.

Please bare with us, and thanks for your continued support and interest.

:redf: Tell the truth I don't even frequent our own forums much :redf:

This will be a daily or more routine for me from now on, I promise.

Just went in there and saw the section on screen shots.

Duhhhhhhh..... (never claimed to be all that sharp) :isadizzy:

Thanksgiving weekend here (Canada) so very busy with family etc. but will post a mess of screenies in separate threads on each airfield soon and link here.

Chaps, we used to have a website that allowed several images to be uploaded onto the product page of the online store. When we went over to the dedicated server and changed and changed the shop shop site, we lost this facility. Also with the bolt on in front of the shop site and various issues with how that works it has made the whole thing less than easy to get screenshots up. We are however working on it and in the near future should have a webpage for every new product. Like Bob say's (to paraphrase) I am not a web developer, but please bear with us - we will get there.

A simple webpage could hold images, this page could then be linked to on the product page.

    Such as...

"Please click here to see images of this product."

That sort of thing isn't rocket science...well not if I can do it :costumes:
    Cheers,

Sorted now guys. Go to the Screenshots section of the Skysim forum. Not a perfect fix but better than nothing.
