Any recommendation for military airfield addons ?

Hi all,

MSFS now has quite a lot of addons for sceneries and airports.
In the past days I might have seen one or two nice looking military airports, but I didn't download them immediately, and then now I forgot which ones I saw

I'm more specifically looking for these airports with many hangars and bunkers all around, possibly in forests/green area.
Do you guys know any interesting scenery ?

Might be one of it RAF Lakenheath? To my opinion nice, but not much real regarding buildings, looks a bit like default....

I have looked at most of those bases for download; and installed a few. But I am a little disappointed that none of the bases (that I have found listed) have any hangars with open doors? Am guessing it is much more work intensive to model that into the scenery? It would be so awesome, especially with the bunker type hangars in European bases, to be able to taxi out from those hangars.... NC

Thanks a lot. That first one you linked is the kind I'm looking for. The other ones feel a bit empty, see what I mean ?
Concerning the French airbases, yes indeed I've seen two that are still showing on the map in flightsim.to, but lead to 404 errors. That includes Solenzara in Corsica, as well as Ambérieu not far away from Switzerland

Now I'm thinking: I think there was one of our fellow members in at SOH, who always used to post superb screenshots of military planes in FSX or P3D, always on the same military base with old rusty shelters with grass around... Can't remember where it was, but I believe it was somewhere in central/eastern Europe maybe ?

Yeah Lakenheath has TAB-V hardened aircraft shelters, not those farmyard barns in the screenshots - it looks better than default, but possibly default objects. Shame they missed the burger van near the viewing area (I am joking).

Moffett is there, but none of the hangars are anywhere close to correct. Hangar One had to be added on even in FS9, but the other two were open on each end and you could take the Extra on barnstorming runs through them.

You might try out this freeware gem of the former Memmingen airbase in Germany, my home airport. Though it has been transferred to civilian use in 2002 (Allgäu Airport, EDJA, "Munich west" for RyanAir ) much of the military infrastructure is still there, aircraft shelters included. Memmingen AB was the home of the 34th Fighter-Bomber Wing (F-84, F-104, Tornado IDS) including 4 US tactical nukes B61. Back then it was said that the targets for those nukes were two Soviet forward airfields in Czechoslovakia. The shelters are closed but its pre-alpine location might make it worthwhile...
