Seems the server is once again unable to cope with all the people after these aircraft..

Rather sad, though, isn't it? No sales on these planes for 3 months - and there have been a lot of these releases lately...
Hopefully Alphasim is doing well enough with its other aircraft to keep in business!
At the same time though, I am looking forward to flying that Cessna 170 - I confess I am very much a GA guy at heart, dispite the many warbirds I maintain in my hangar...
and I know I cannot wait much longer for the Catalina!

Are there any repaints for the 170B? Checked Flightsim.com and can't get into the Avsim library (again).

Or potentially a soundpack for the 170B? I found one on Avsim for the Cessna 150 and 172, but since I'm not as knowledgeable on the 170, I'm not sure what engine I'm looking for...anyone know?

    Thanks again for Alphasims generosity

I purchased the Cessna 170 late last year and it's well worth getting ... now that it's free. I'm hoping someone is up to doing repaints for it especially in US or Canadian regos.

I've just downloaded the S-55 and I'll be looking for some new textures for that.

There are some pretty sweet repaints for the Skywarrior at Avsim, by Pierre Lheureux and Dave Stewart.

Intel i9-13900 Raptor Lake , Be Quiet! Dark rock slim cooler, 32 Gb Corsair DDR5 RAM, MSI Z790 Tomahawk motherboard, Asus RTX 4060Ti 16Gb, Thermaltake 1050 Watt PSU, Windows 11 64-bit 1 m2, 4 SSD, 2 HDD.

The Cessna 170 was powered by a Continental O-300 flat six (aka the C-145, good for about 145hp). For that matter so were the early 172's right up to the late 60s IIRC. It was basically an O-200 with an extra couple of pistons...or maybe the O-200 was an O-300 missing a couple...anyway I'm not sure if there's a soundset out there however; haven't looked too extensively.

Thanks Alphasim! I've been flying the S-55 for a couple of hours now, and I have to say that it is a very nice STABLE helicopter, plus there are a lot of great repaints out there for it. Thanks again!

The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

I can't thank you enough Alphasim! I have always loved the A-3. I was stationed at NAS Point Mugu CA back in the arly 90's when VAQ-34 was still operating the type. I had several friends in that squadron while attached to VFA-305.

Was a pleasure to watch them fly, and an even better pleasure to be able to fly that aircraft in FS.

    Cheers! Mike :ernae:
