    Flight 1 Cessna 162 Freeware

    Anyone out there manage to make the C 162 skycatcher compatible with P3D V4? Looks like the MFD panels do not function. They are black and I cannot get them to display.
    Me thinks the MFD panels are for 32 bit and not function in 64 bit. None of the Shift (Number) keys function either, but do in P3D V3

    If you check my posts about half way down the page linked below I explain how to make it work and I have flown it in P3Dv4.5.

    https://www.simforums.com/forums/low...24.html#373824

    I took the free Flight 1 model and replaced the gauges with those from the Abacus version.
    The Flight1 visual model is superior but the gauges from the Abacus version are good enough.
    The glass panels are not as sharp and crisp as the Flight1 are in FSX but they are good enough.

    The Abacus model can be found on sale at half price or around $10.
    In fact, on sale right now at PC Aviator plus an additional 10% off since its a Tuesday (weekends are usually 10% off as well).

    Appreciate the info. I did read your post in link ^ and it looks like as a workaround, you cannibalize the Abacus panel but I get the impression

    that you did this for FSX back then. You mentioned in your post ^ "I was going to uninstall the superior but frame rate killer Flight1 model."
    Again, I'm thinking that was for FSX when you wrote that. I guess in FSX the MFD panel worked well in FSX but was the frame killer for FSX.

    I will just follow your footprints in your post ^ and do the step by step and cross my fingers. BTW were you able to get any SHIFT + Number keys to show in P3D4?
    In P3D3 they work and consist of adding a pilot/student and adorn them with cool shades.

    Well looks like I followed your instructions and everything went well.

    Thanks for your help.

    Excellent. Glad to help. I'm doing it myself since I lost it when I had rebuild the machine earlier this year.

    Works in Prepar3D v5 as well.

    Key maps missing

    Frank,

    Did you notice that the key maps are missing and do not work? At least for me in P3D 4 - They work in P3D3.

    If I attempt to use any of the keys then P3D4 will close. Also, none of the buttons on the MFD panels function, but
    at least there are displays.

    Edit: The MFD buttons work in 2D not so in VC mode.

    This option doesn't work in P3D4

    Noticed that I didn't add the gauges from the F1 Cessna and now I get the Aux control panel where I can select pilots and shades.

    When I press Shift + 2 and 3 then P3D will fold (shut down immediately)

    Key maps are working for me in P3D v4.5 and v5.1.

    There is an issue with the MFD not popping up though for some reason
    (double-checked and nothing seems off but it still doesn't pop up).

    But otherwise they work fine.

    Hi Butch, this means that the views from the original panel.cfg have disappeared. Usually the first entries of the panel config file, so easy enough to copy-paste from the original file.

    Didn't add the gauges from F1 inventory, all is well.

    This is current entry in Panel cfg:

    [Window Titles]
    Window00=Main Panel
    Window01=G300 PFD
    Window02=G300 MFD
    Window03=Auxilliary Control Panel

    Now, When I press shift + 3 = P3D quits.
    Shift +4 - aux cp shows
    Shift + 1 = nothing shows
    Shift + 2 + same

    Now windows 01/02 looks to call for the AB MFD/PFD but they only show in the cockpit.

    Redo key maps

    I removed the former Shift +3 option (MFD panel) that would close P3D V4.5

    Now there are just three functional Key map options and they all work.

    If interested, this is what was done:

    [Window Titles]
    Window00=Main Panel
    Window01=G300 PFD
    //Window02=G300 MFD
    Window02=Auxilliary Control Panel

    //[Window02]
    Background_color=0,0,0
    size_mm=785,1027
    window_size_ratio=1.000
    position=0
    visible=0
    ident=36 //2000
    window_size= 0.380, 0.663
    window_pos= 0.520, 0.330

    [Window02] >>>>> Was Window03
    Background_color=0,0,0
    size_mm=697,465
    window_size_ratio=1.000
    position=0
    visible=0
    ident=80
    render_3d_window=0
    window_size= 0.500, 0.445
    window_pos= 0.070, 0.090
    zorder=98

    gauge00=F1_C162!aux_panel, 0,0,697,465
