    CFS3 BoB Campaign Package Available

A little bit of post Christmas cheer. A package of BoB campaigns and hundreds of associated files, to provide a new experience in campaign play for CFS3. Available on the BoB website. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1P3M...F77gRopOj/view

It is recommended to install the package over a stand-alone version of CFS3 BoB updated to the Mk1 version. Detailed installation instructions and worked example of how to start a Group-specific campaign are provided.

This series of campaigns allows for tailored specific BoB-appropriate missions. RAF 10, 11 and 12 Group pilots and aircraft are set up as separate "countries", which means you can follow a career as a 10 Group RAF fighter pilot, for example. Different global layers are associated with different campaigns to achieve new things. For example, strike_factory missions for LW bombers will often involve airbases, a first for CFS3 campaign play.

A very active aircraft spawning environment brings more activity to airfields. As is so often the case, this package offers a glimpse of what is possible - another 500 hours is needed for more taxiing aircraft, more take off spawns, more Group-specific spawning locations, more Group and geography appropriate skins, etc.

You have to choose the specific campaign for the specific pilot career - to fly as a LW fighter pilot you use a campaign that offers escort and rhubarb (Sweep) missions, and the occasional alternative like anti-shipping.

Flying one of the RAF Group-specific campaigns, you fly intercept missions dealing with incoming bombers and fighters just a few miles off the coast. You also have Combat Air Patrol Missions where the environment around your airbase is swarming with jerries, fighters down low and bombers up top - its a real challenge to get altitude to take out the bombers.

If you feel lucky, you can conduct a rhubarb over a LW airbase (range allowing), and the flak and defending aircraft taking off from the airbase will keep your hands full.

Or fly a Blenheim to attack a port, see if you can survive . . . just like the real missions some are very dangerous.

Airbases have aircraft taxiing about. Small ships and subs stick to coastal waters. What will you find on Recce missions?

Lots more can be done but the vision is that a good campaign and supporting spawn package should provide a constantly changing mission experience utilising random spawns so no two missions are alike. Unlike stock CFS3, these campaigns will make you work for your hard-won successes.

Huge thanks to Clive for allowing me to use his sand-pit

This looks great so I will have to go back to BoB from TOW work soon to check it out. The stuff around and on airbases sounds particularly interesting. I think one will have to pay close attention to the readmes.

This is definitely a must play. I am enjoying the larger bomber formations and choice of which group to fly, not to mention the fighter escort keeping you on your toes in true bob fashion. Daiwilletti's poured his extensive mission and spawn knowledge into this, creating an absolute gem. Well done mate!

Sounds impressive what you've done with campaign play. D/l'ed but still have to get the BOB standalone working first. Always seem to have an issue with multicfs3 though I am sure it is my fault.

Talking of which, once sdsbolt releases his great app which will include the fighter control communications with the BoB fighters, these I'm sure can be added to the campaign's aircraft! See my http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforum...dio?highlight=

I am not able to get the new BoB Campaign Package to work. Followed campaign package instructions - Clean BoB Alpha - BoB MK1 - BoB package overwrites - Adjust Files. When start it says Config out of date re-start CFS3 even after several reruns of Config. I am able to get it to work if I ignore the AppData overwrite but then I have no bullet tracers.

I am able to get the Clean BoB Alpha - BoB MK1 to work just fine. I just don't like that you can't turn off random spawns.

I next will try putting my BoB campaign files and spawn selector into MK1 to see how it will work.

Any help or comments or thoughts of what I might be doing wrong are appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mrjmaint,

the problem with the config not updating is related to Ankors shaders. Sometimes, even though the d3d8.ini file tries to turn it off, CFS3 still persists in trying to get the config file to run.

The solution is to undo the "read only" setting for the configoverrides.xml file in the AppData pathway. Then run cfs3config.exe and set it up the way you want. After making sure that the install will run, you can go back later and make the configoverrides.xml file "Read only" again. I only set it to "Read Only" because it has a bad habit of changing to allow Dual Pass Render otherwise.

    Thanks for the feedback, sixstrings5859.

To create a more polished product would take an awful of of time, the spawns alone took months. However as it stands the addon shows what is possible.

I am unable to get the mission builder to to work in my BoB MK1 install with the campaign package. The mission builder works for all my other installs. Any help would be appreciated.
