    Banshee uncontrollable

I had Rob's Banshee installed, and it flew beautifully. I had uninstalled it, as I was reorganizing my Community Folder. I reinstalled it, and for some reason, the aircraft is completely uncontrollable. Just wondered if anyone else is having this problem? I do know that since I had uninstalled it, there have been a couple MSFS updates. Thanks, NC

    Pete,

This Banshee, it is a port, or native MSFS?

    Cheers,

Is that an FSX import or Native?
My FSX imported Banshee is sluggish in roll and lumpy in pitch but I've only ever tried it after the latest patch (not got the hotfix though) - what controller do you use?

Priller, it is converted from a FSX model. But it was handling perfectly before. Pet

Just checked my import - same as before...the Cougar is much nicer to fly in MSFS but Banshee not impossible.

Note that this isn't an import/portover, though, Keith. Rob is actually working on porting the plane to MSFS, and Navy Chief has a test version.

Navy Chief, I just checked the Banshee under the latest patch and it was uncontrollable. Something in the new version broke things -- nothing to do with you removing and reinstalling it.

I dropped an email note to Rob. Probably best to let him know directly on this stuff, since the plane isn't in general distribution yet but just out with a group of testers.

Long shot but - check your controller sensitivity settings. The last update made some interesting changes there and the first plane I tried to fly after that update was barely controllable.

Nope, it's not the sensitivity. Checked it, and other planes are fine.

I have the same problem, totally uncontrollable.
That was some update that MS gave us...
You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to

In the meantime, M$/Asobo released a hotfix. Did you guys install that? i never experienced the glitches that were mentionned.

Then again, I don't have the Banshee or the Cougar installed.

With reference to updates....is it possible to NOT allow a update? Looks like my MSFS install updates automatically. If there's a way to uninstall that update, I would. NC

Heard from Rob in email. He's aware and is seeing the problem himself, but he's having problems with his Sim-Outhouse login. (If any mods are reading... :-) )

Alas, because of the "online" nature of MSFS, you can't skip patches. The only way to do so would be to play it in "offline" mode, without the streaming scenery, etc.

@Priller, there are a number of problems with 3PP aircraft as of the latest patch. The Black Box L-19 Bird Dog lost its switches due to changes in the back-end. The hotfix just fixed the CTD issue, not this stuff.

Got the hot fix installed and my Thrustmaster T16000M turned bonker...trying to change sensitivity, better try-and-error but really cannot understand those numbers and graphics. Everything was fine before the "update" wonder why they trashed that.

The sensitivity curves determine how the sim reacts to small control inputs vs. yank-n-crank. I like to have larger steering angles on my nose and tail wheels, but that can sometimes lead to twitchy ground handling. The curve you see here is for my rudder (tiller) input. Small inputs are less sensitive, but at full stick-twist deflection, I can still get the full steering angle for tight turns at low ground speeds. If you tend to be heavy-handed in the air, you can also apply those curves to the pitch and roll inputs to help smooth things out a bit.

Regarding the erractic behavior of some planes, especially port-overs, you should double-check the sim settings regarding the flight model. Is it set to legacy or modern ? One works better than the other, but I don't remember which one.
Anyways, maybe this setting got changed by your recent update, and you need to change it back to its original value ?

  16. #16
Totally appreciate everyone's advice here, but flight model setting was the first thing I checked.

Again, I confirmed with Rob that something changed in the sim. It's not a portover, he's converting it to native MSFS using the SDK, and something went awry.

Asobo responded apologetically to Black Box Simulation about the latest update causing some issues for third-party planes and said they'll address it: https://www.facebook.com/BlackBoxSim...04560982962609

Sorry not to have replied sooner but I must have mistyped my login details or something.
The Banshee is native MS2020 and something has been updated in the sim that caused the problem.
The controller settings seem much better now and after a bit of work on the flight.cfg file, which is so
much more complicated than the FSX equivalent and so much better of course, the Banshee is flying as well as I can get it!
Obviously its not up to a standard that I could release with a clear conscience but should anyone like to try it, on the understanding that
it still needs a lot of work, just email me.

    Rob

proof once more that Mickey$oft/Asobo need to start working hard at their SDK and about informing their customer base about changes.

    Just MHO.

Happy to be able to confirm that the Native Banshee is now flying very well and looking lovely

Perhaps the title of the post could have =Fixed= attached?
