Texture issue with Virtualcol DHC-3 Otter Qantas

I downloaded here the Qantas rextures for Virtualcol DHC-3 Otter. Neither the floating, nor the wheeled versions show the textures. May has someone an idea how resolve the problem?

    Thanks for any advice.

What format are the textures you downloaded? They did model versions for FSX and FS9. If they are FSX textures they may need converted to a format FS9 supports.

Virtualcol DHC-3 Otter is usable with FSX and FS9. All the repaints for all versions are shown correctly. The Qantas textures are proposed to be used with FSX. Nothing about FS9. But they still are BMP files, and therefore should be compatible with FS9 too. Nevertheless there is a fact, that the two files 'vcol_dh3_fusep_t' for float and wheel versions have a size of 4'097 KB, whereas those coming with the package are just 1'025 KB large, as all other textures files. Curious, isn't it?

They are probably DXT5 .bmp files , fs2004 can't use DXT5 compression, so you would need to resample as DXT3 (remembering to flip both image and Alpha before saving)
and you may need to resize the image to 1024 x 1024 beforehand.

Scruffyducks DXTBMP utility and a paint/ image program can be used to do this.
