Return to menu - Post Patch 2

Before Path 2 I could return to the main menu by hitting escape a couple of times. That doesn't work anymore. They is a key command for "return to main menu", but that doesn't work either. Anyone else having this problem? How to you get back to the main menu?

    Sorry Paul,

That still works for me; esc to the the three menu window, then esc again to the main menu.

When I had problems with my initial install, I went to where the program is located in the program list, right clicked on it and hit the "repair" button. You may want to give that a try.

Interesting. On my install, the escape key [now] simply toggles between the options page and back into the sim. Going to try the repair option. Thanks Ken.

On mine, Esc has always been labeled as "Toggle Pause." The key sequence for me is Esc > End > Enter. But I keep my mouse between my stick and throttle, so it's just quicker for me to hit Esc and then mouse back the rest of the way.

Correction: What Tom said. Esc-Esc is what I was doing when I wanted to pause (because many of the planes would stall and start falling out of the sky with the in game pause). To get out of the game I do use ESC then select the End (Main Menu) with the mouse.

Ha! Figured it out. I was running the sim in windowed mode rather than full screen mode. Habit. I did that with FSX because in FSX if you are in full screen mode you can't drag popup panels off the main monitor to your second monitor. So I did the same with this FS2020. For whatever reason, after the installation of patch 2, the window was no longer maximized. I didn't notice that because it was still taking up the entire screen. When I maximized the window, all the missing buttons on the bottom popped back into existence. They were there all along, just off screen. Well, almost off screen. If I went back to "not maximized" I could just barely see the tops of the buttons.

Then I wondered: Can I bring the map window to my second monitor in this sim, while in full screen mode? Can't drag it there, that's still true, but the little button with the 45 degree pointing arrow - that sends it to the second monitor. Even in full screen mode. What a dummy I am! So it's back to full screen mode.

One minor detail about undocking those menus... At least on my system, if you want to record video, don't undock anything. I thought I was recording a greaser of a landing, but the video recorded my ATC window from the second screen instead!
