    CJ4 - G1000 Mods

    Working Title team's modes for the G1000 and CJ4.

    This is the home of mods for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator from the Working Title team. We have a number of projects either in the works or planned. Here is the status of what is currently being worked on and links to downloadable releases.

    CJ4 - Upgrade 2.0

    A major CJ4 upgrade.

    Key Features


    • Fixed Direct To routing when attempting to go direct to IAF or enroute waypoints
    • Enabled proper EXEC/CANCEL MOD function and removed the 'Activate' logic
    • Created Custom Font and implemented across FMC, PFD and FMS

    PERF / PERF INIT


    • Added Main Menu
    • Added Perf Init Page to set/read weight, fuel and cruise altitude
    • Added Takeoff Ref page 1 with working calculator for takeoff data for the selected departure runway, including wind, pressure altitude, runway condition, runway length
    • Added Takeoff Ref page 2 with calculated V speeds and calculated takeoff distance, including selectors for Flaps and Anti Ice state. Vspeeds can be sent to PFD and appear in magenta color when set by FMC.
    • Added Fuel Management page 1 calculating fuel remaining, displaying fuel flow, allowing setting of reserve fuel, showing endurance, range and endurance to reserve fuel and specific range.
    • Added Fuel Management page 2 showing fuel flow in each engine and fuel burned, with added 'reset initial fuel' button

    Known Issues


    • You cannot currently select Direct-To of a fix on your approach that is not the initial approach fix. This is a limitation of the sim flightplan system at present. We are investigating solutions to this issue.
    • After using Direct-To, the navigation will not always automatically sequence to the next fix and may enter ROL mode. You can re-activate NAV to navigate to the next fix if you encounter this issue.
    • There are cosmetic issues regarding the PFD and MFD (shapes, text, alignments). The PFD and MFD have not gotten a full layout overhaul as of this time.
    • The aircraft is still using the built-in MSFS autopilot (for now). All the existing limitations of that still apply. It does behave a bit better with the engine performance changes.

    Known Issues

    *FLIGHT PLAN BUG: Entering in waypoints on the flight plan route page does not correctly update the page. (6:38 on demo video).

    G1000 v0.3.0 upgrade

    With the release of the MSFS 1.9.3.0 patch today, you can expect most if not all mods to require updates to work correctly. The Working Title team advises you to remove all mods, including our CJ4 and G1000 mods, from your Community folder until such time as they are updated.

    • Added track-up mode for both PFD and MFD
    • Fixed unwanted U-turn on ACTIVATE APPROACH
    • Fixed reversed behavior of NOSE UP/DN buttons in FLC mode

    Engine Model


    • Engine fuel consumption model has been custom coded and replaces the sim fuel consumption. Fuel consumption, especially at cruise, should be much, much closer to published. Expect 1800-1850pph per side at ISA full power at sea level and 500-800pph per side at cruise, depending on altitude, mach, and power settings.
    • Thrust now scales exponentially with N1 instead of linearly. Power settings should feel much more accurate.

    Flight Model


    • Added gear drag (Was non-existent before)
    • Greatly reduced spoiler drag & pitch down moment (You shouldn't be losing airspeed in a 30 degree nose down dive with the speedbrakes out)
    • Reduced flap drag

    LEGS Page


    • Added ability to insert a new fix
    • Added ability to remove whole segments by pressing LSK of one fix and then LSK of another
    • Added ability to to direct-to a leg by pressing LSK of the fix and then dropping onto the magenta line

    • Simbrief flight plan import: Added ability to enter your PILOT ID from Simbrief and then load the latest OFP/Flight Plan directly to the FMC (store your PILOT ID in the MOD SETTINGS page and then use the ROUTE MENU to FPLN RECALL)
    • Approach Waypoints: Added ability to skip waypoints on the approach
    • FMS Performance: Greatly improved the performance of the FMS / waypoint loading times
    • Added MFD Memory Functions - MEM buttons now allowing users to save states of the MFD and switch quickly between them (press and hold a MEM button to save the current state to that button)

    Important Feature Change

    The active flight plan route will no longer be displayed in the ARC or ROSE modes. This is accurate to the actual aircraft. The ARC and ROSE modes are designed to work with the course pointer system. If you would like to see the flight plan route, you must use the PPOS display mode (very similar to ARC, except with the active flight plan instead of pointers) or the PLAN mode.
    To activate the new altitude select range indicator (altitude banana), press DSPL MENU on the FMC, then go to page 2. Press LSK3L to activate the indicator. The indicator will only be displayed in the PPOS mode.

    • The LSK should no longer select the wrong runway if an arrival is also selected

    PFD/MFD


    • ARC, ROSE, and PPOS modes have been overhauled. You should no longer see the route map in ARC and ROSE modes, but only in PPOS and PLAN modes (Selected from FMS DSPL MENU)
    • Properly modeled and styled course needles have been added to the ARC and ROSE modes reflective of the real aircraft
    • The dotted blue ghost localizer needle now shows in ARC and ROSE if you have FMS selected, a localizer tuned, and within range (~30NM from airport)
    • The altitude range arc has been added to PPOS mode and will now show when you will reach your selected target altitude (thanks WT Garmin team)
    • Metric and imperial units switch should be reflected on the PFD/MFD
    • Top-of-descent (TOD) indicator should now display on the moving map and its position properly calculated
