    Hi all,
I have uploaded a slightly revised (and hopefully improved) version to the Library.

It should be available under FSX Military Props.

Please delete the version you downloaded from my link and get this version.

    Thanks
    Gavin

    Very Happy

So glad to see you guys brought this out of the junk pile and like it. Can you remove the cowl to see the guns? Do whatever you want with it.

Warbirdlover, I have always liked this Whirlwind. Flew the wings off it in CFS2 back in the day.

Yes the cowl animation works, as does your pilot sliding the canopy back.

    Hi Priller,
I have cleaned up the texture settings a bit, finalized updating the VC and I thought fixed the rudder animations.

However going back and flying it again this morning I noticed that the rudder animation fix hadn't made it into the released package.

There is a V1.1 update just uploaded that contains the corrected models.

    Hello, Gavin,

-I see that the panel lighting does not work! To fly in the evening or at night it is not practical !!!
I tried several choices of light, and positions in relation to the point of view, without result!
Is there a way to fix this?
    - another point, unlike the propeller pitch levers, which can be operated independently with the mouse, the power levers act together but are not clickable, can we remedy this?
    thank you for your attention
(yes, I really like this plane !!)

I noticed when clicking the panel light switch it was coming on barely behind the panel and illuminating the foot pedal area. Here is how I fixed mine. Delete or comment line 6 in Lights section.
    Copy this to Lights section: light.6 = 4, -3.00, 0.00, 3.65, fx_vclight,

The original model was/is payware. I bought my copy in 2006 so I don't know if it is still available.

Andrew Wai recently released an updated version for CFS2 that is available in the library here. You could see if that worked in FS9.

    Hi Alain,
Glad you are enjoying the Whirlwind.
Are you sure you are using the most recent version from this site - the power levers should be working independently and are clickable. You should be able mouse over the red ball or the handle itself and move the 2 throttles independently. The only lever in the VC I couldn't get working with the mouse is the flap lever (on the bottom right beside the landing gear lever). It has the right tags but doesn't respond to the mouse. All I can think is that the angle is such that the area of mouse control is too small to respond.

As for the panel lights I see they are already fixed. Must admit I didn't notice when I did my testing, guess I don't fly much at night.

    Hello Gavin,

    - I used the last version that you modified concerning the rudder !!!
    - I will redownload the model again, to see !!
    Thank you for the clarification!

    Hello Gavin,

I reloaded the plane and tried but it's the same! So I had the right model modified!
However, as you had specified that the clickable areas were very small on the controller on the right, I "explored" the surfaces around the power levers !! And there, I found small areas on the base of the levers, but which are not active on the red balls! (see my image - in yellow) It's a shame !!!

So I put my modified plane back in place!
And if I understand correctly, it is not possible to enlarge these clickable areas!
But nevertheless, thank you for this excellent job of adapting to FSX!
    Have a good day.

Alain, is that a screenshot of the VC? If so it isn't the same VC as I shipped with the latest release. I tweaked the fuel gauges in the VC so that there is no fuel tank selector and the 2 fuel gauges are for the left and right fuel tanks (closer to the actual aircraft).

    Gavin

    Hello Gavin,

-Yes, I swapped a few gauges for my panel, but it's your last version of the plane !
-And I just removed the tank selector!
    Have a good day

    Hi Alain,
I just checked again in FSX (I did most of my testing in P3D) and the throttles definitely move independently. The red ball doesn't seem to trigger the mouse in FSX but if you hover over the lever then you should be able to move the throttle.

I've got the CWDT version on one of my backup drives, and IIRC the Ito-San release received a decent rework (with permission) by 'Lionheart'.
No idea what Bill is up to but he did a really nice job on that one.

    Shiny Whirlwind

I just can't seem to leave this alone.
I've been working on upgrading the shine.
This shot is from P3D but FSX should be just as good.

I'll upload the V2 in a few days if anyone is interested.

I've also disconnected the landing light from the landing gear so that it is operated independently when you turn on the landing gear.

    Hello Gavin;

-You say, "I just can't seem to leave this alone." and you are right !! This plane deserves it, and is only too little known!
    I am a buyer of a v2 version!
    Thank you

    Alain
