Stick with the current cards since it will be hard to get 3000 series cards and it's not needed for the current crop of games.

Well, I'd say wait for AMD to announce if you're not in a big hurry, but I certainly wouldn't suggest anyone buy an RTX 20x0 card at this point.
As for whether games can use it, I'm quite sure when I get my Reverb G2 I'll be able to push the new cards to full power trying to get 90 fps VR going on DCS and MSFS.

Today we will see the first press benchmarks. I'm curious about the results. According me, for owners of 2080Ti (if you have a financial surplus ):
- if you have 2080Ti and run on 2-2,5K - its not necessary to replace your card (the difference will not be great).
- if you play at 4K - it will probably be worth replacing the card for 3080/90
- if you play VR - it will probably be worth replacing the card for 3090
or wait for RTX3080Ti (probably the beginning of the next year), the problem of the current generation 3070-80 is the amount of VRAM, for 3090 is ok, but we need something that gives 12-16Gb (especially for VR and higher resolutions). So there's a big hole right now, 10Gb and ... 24Gb. Probably for Ti/Super line.
But. I hope we will see some tests in MSFS, maybe the difference in FPS can be big due to the new engine and the resource consumption of the GPU here. We will see.

Soooo 10 FPS increase is worth $1600??? I have a 2080 Super and I'm not seeing ANY issues with performance. I have every setting set to ULTRA and get about 40 FPS average.

Flight Simulator 2020 is full of system-related bottlenecks, and that is holding down performance in the lower resolutions. The faster graphics cards start to show off starting at Ultra HD though.

It's funny how many of these stupid videos assume everyone has the previous greatest card. Yeah, if you have the previous greatest card, you don't need this. I'm not one of those people. And considering this new card is much lower in cost than the "previous greatest card," I think I'll just go with the new one. At this point, I can only assume most of those people are just concern trolls. I'm referring to all of the people trying to negative sell the new cards.

Not offcial tests but its only 10% more (to 3080) of fps for 3090 with +100% of the price ???
I thought it would be + 25-30% at least!

The plus is that they may be available, not like the 3080, if the difference is so small actually.
However, it looks like 3090 will only be for madmen or VR people I suppose.
