    Razbam TA7-C hook won't lower

    Need some help please. Seems the arrester hook doesn't work on my TA-7Cs. I was doing some final inspections on 2 USNTPS paints and discovered the hook will not lower. I've made no changes to the config file except for the texture entries. I've checked the animation in MCX and it's there. The VC click spot for the hook handle is there but it doesn't work either. I've also verified that the hook operation works in all the other A-7 versions and several other A/C types I tested without fail. It's only the TA-7 that does not work. Reloaded the original model but same result.

    Has anyone else run into this and, if you have, how did you fix it?

    Thanks

    It sounds like you have check this but... just in case....

    Have you checked the aircraft.cfg for the tailhook code?
    How does it compare to the other A-7 aircraft.cfg's?

    This is the Tailhook code from the Razbam T-2 (I don't have the A-7's installed on my work computer)

    [TailHook]
    tailhook_length = 4 ;(feet)
    tailhook_position = -23.6, 0.0, 1.2 ;(feet) longitudinal, lateral, vertical positions from datum
    cable_force_adjust = 1.0

    Mine lowered just fine.

    You did turn on all the electrical, hydraulics, etc.?

    If at first you don't succeed, try, try,try again. ... or go read the manual.

    Thanks guys but yes, yes, and yes. The master power switch stays on by default unless you turn it off but I’ve verified ON. The three hydraulic system gages read 3k lbs each. No way to turn off or otherwise disengage hydraulics that I’ve found. The config files are identical between A, B, C, E and TA except for TGW and engine thrust.

    Been scratching my head for a few days on this one.

    Did you do any mods to the TA7-C like swap out the mdl file, edit the aircraft.cfg or make changes to the air file?

    I assume the hook lowers on the other T models?

    No mods. Straight stock model file, config and air. I actually re-installed both the model and air files, and verified the config file line by line with the original. I didn’t try the other T’s because they’re not installed. As a test I did substitute the modded A/B air but it made no difference with the hook. So I think that eliminated the air file as the problem.

    Guess I’ll load the H and P and see if it works with those models. I think it may be that my copy of Vol 2 is corrupted.

    Look in the [hydraulic_system] section of the TA-7C's .cfg file and make sure there's an entry of 3000 on the "normal_pressure =" line. I know you said the hydraulic gauges read 3000 but I've found that without an entry of at least 1500 on this line the tailhook won't work.

    Thanks Tarps. Yep, "normal_pressure = 3000.0" is present.

    What ever is causing it is common for my entire Vol. III, all models, no working tail hook. One more thing. When I attempt to open any TA model in the animation editor in MCX (tried it in 3 latest MCX versions) it crashes the app. Have to use the 3 finger salute to end the program. I believe now I have a corrupted Vol. III package. All models are borked, at least the hook op is. There is something amiss in all models of my Vol. III. Everything else, all animations, click spots, etc seem to operate OK. Really puzzled over this one.
