    Windows 10/FSX/Error1722

I'm trying to reinstall FSX on my computer with Win10 & I keep getting a "Error 1722". Can anybody help me get this done, especially getting past the "Error 1722" ?

It's a well documented Windows installer error:

    https://windowsreport.com/error-1722-fsx/

    In short:

    1. Scan the Registry
    2. Start the Windows Installer Service
    3. Reregester the Windows Installer Service
    4. Open the Program and Uninstall Troubleshooter
    5. Enable Windows Script Hosting
    6. Set up a new Admin Account

    Hope this helps!

I recently bought a new rig and had to re-install all the stuff. Had some issues with FSX but finally succeeded after lengthy tries, search for fixes and two complete re-install.
So where are you stuck, it maybe I had same pb and so possible solution?

Just at the end before the program goes to registeration. This has happened every time I try to install it. The infamous "error 1722" comes up & I try again after using Priller's solution. Just will not work.

    Hi Folks

FSX Error 1722 is a Software Licensing issue
occuring when you attempt to reinstall FSX.

Please see the official Microsoft Support page -
Error 1722 when reinstalling Flight Simulator X

    Hopefully that should fix it.

Important that when installing FSX, you do so as ADMINISTRATOR.

ok, if its the registration of fsx acceleration issue I know it.

It's no an easy one, surprisingly a mater of registry, not written exactly the proper way.
Please do the following before installing acceleration:

Go to the bottom left to the command zone and type 'regedit'
Then 'Edit' in the top bar, look for 'search'
    When in 'search' type 'UpperFilters'
After a short while you may see on the right side of the window 'UpperFilters REG_MULTI_SZ XXXX'

XXXX may be different things. Go to the next until you read 'partmgr'
For me it is in the key 53487c23-680f-4585-acc3-1f10d6777e82.
IF YOU READ PartMgr change to partmgr by clicking onto 'UpperFilters'.

Then install Acceleration again. It will ask for registration without anymore trouble.

    1. run regedit (Windowskey +R)
    2. Expand the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTRO L\CLASS\{4D36E967-
    E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side.
    4. Change the value from 0 to PartMgr and/or remove any other settings and then click OK.
    5. Close Registry Editor
    6. Start FSX/Accel and you should get the registration wizard.

The most important thing to remember is that the registry entry PartMgr must, MUST be capitalized as shown. The capitol P and M. The rest must be lower-case. A lot of folks make the mistake of making it all lower case, or whatever.

    Good luck!

GOT IT. Problem was basically as you folks said it was; all I had to do was implement it properly. Thanks all. I surely appreciate the help.
