PSS/Just Flight Vulcan

Can anyone tell me how to extend the landing lights? Ive read the manual, it says you can. But if use the side panel or press L nothing happens, all you can see is the landing light effect (when viewed from below)

Had a quick look at the PSS model in MCX and I can't see an animation for the landing lights so I think it is an effect only?
