    Latest Nvidia Drivers

I realize everyone’s system and situation is different but thought it worth posting just in case.
Nvidia’s latest drivers 442.59 had a significant impact on FPS in P3Dv4.5 on my PC.
Even with reduced settings it became a slideshow in some instances.
Most significant impact was panning with TrackIR.
I have since reinstalled 442.19 (clean install) and my FPS is back to normal.

    Cheers, Bernard

I need to upgrade. I'm still on 441.66, and since the last Win 10 update on mine, I've been having some rather severe micro stutters, which were not there before Windows update. Win 10 ver 1809, build 17763.1098.

My laptop was updated to the 1903 build, seems better, but I had to redo most of my Windows passwords, such as logon, email, synch, file sharing on home network, etc. Just those associated with the system, no website/purchase point/forum logons were affected.

I didnt notice any problem with the last version of NV drivers.
Did You use DDU for example to uninstall the version before?

I haven’t used DDU, but used Nvidia’s “clean” install option.
I’ve never had a display driver cause me a problem in P3D.
In my experience FSX was more sensitive to different drivers.

I used P3D for a few hours yesterday with the older drivers and all is well again, very strange.

Before launching P3D with the new drivers, did you check if all of your video drivers settings were still the same as before (no new, automatically activated and undesirable features?) ?
Did you also delete the shaders of P3D ?

LOL - My impression is that when new drivers come out the number of reports that it hinders FS exceeds by some margin those saying it improves FS performance.

Until recently I was using the drivers that shipped with my last built PC six years ago! However, when I saw reports here of the new image sharpening feature last year, I switched to 441.12 and that was well worth it. Any big improvements seen with later versions?
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

I only noticed a slight degradation with the update. I rolled back to 442.19 and 441.87, not much of a change in FPS or graphics tuning in P3Dv4. In DCS, no change at all in performance.

Daube, yes I always review my Nvidia settings when I update.
I also always delete the shader cache whenever I make a change.
I think my problems might have been related to the new drivers and my TrackIR.
The worst stutters were when I was panning with the TrackIR.
Panning with the hat switch wasn’t affected as much.
Needless to say, all is good with 442.19.

I downloaded the drivers but decided to wait to install them because I read on the site that they were developed to enhance the latest release of "Call of Duty"..... which I don't have anyway.

I installed the 442.19 drivers, and my stutter, actually more like 1/2 second pauses, are still there. Need to do more investigating. I forgot about deleting the shaders. Will try that next.

Did anyone have issues with "Express" install after downloading the last 2 drivers? Both seem to timeout after starting the install.

Yes, it happened once. Must have been a hiccup on their end?
