Nice scheme, Duckie. I really like the sooty cannon ports.

XF8U-3 Supersonic biplan, the only one I guess.
Scrapped with #2 after a short time at NASA. Gloups... A shame...

The loads put on the F-8 nose landing gear were immense. Here's a similar shot I've always liked featuring the French Aeronavale F-8E(FN), showing a similar dynamic ballet of between the arresting wire and the nose gear.

Very small issue with the Crusader

The nose gear shuttle hook up "pilot" light since v1.2 now is on at all times instead just after pressing Ctrl + J.

Also, you can't see in my screenie but the top and bottom red beacons are now flashing as "artifacts" in several places behind the aircraft as well as in their correct positions. Confession: I did swap the default beacon effect for a default smaller one as I find the default ones too large and bright in the daytime.

Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

I had that for a few minutes until I scraped off the previous version and re-installed v1.2 in it's entirety. It's a complete build, not a patch.

Finally downloaded and installed this fine bird ( v1.2) for my FSX-A. Initial test flight very positive but I seem to have 2 problems.
I don't get the nice afterburner flame effect apparent in the screenshots. When at full throttle I only see a bright blue glowing 'star'
pattern that surrounds and actually bleeds through the exhaust nozzle but no flame. I wonder if I've somehow previously overwritten
any previous default .fx files that that this effect depends on. I have several other aircraft both payware and freeware installed that use an
afterburner effect (Aerosoft F-14, Dreamteam f-18, Dino's birds, etc) .

Some guidance on what to look for to troubleshoot and get the AB effect as intended, would be most appreciated.

The second issue is that my test traps on Javier's Nimitz all fail with the F8 going 'through' the deck and landing in the water, as if
the ship is visible but not actually there. This is the only aircraft that fails in this manner. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help and to the creators of this most excellent freeware.

This looks to be around '68 time frame. I had left this outfit then but I think I recognize some of the "ordies" loading the "winders"

    No sound.

Interesting read here about N19TB - Looks like this bird was later sold to Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen of Microsoft.

Didn't know there was a private owned F-8. The parts for it came from a lot of different models in the boneyard.

Hey GE, is this paint in the Library?

Not at the moment - I'm waiting to see if a genuine F-8C appears from RFN before putting it out. It's a rework of an Alphasim one I did for Gray Eagle as he worked on these birds.
