Hi Rami,
Just found this post. I hope your road to full recovery is short and without any detours.
Regards,

........I am glad to hear that for once you failed! Just make sure you don't drink any corona beer when you get home. BTW: make sure to call the Mayo yourself and make sure that those doctors were notified. Some people just call and say "he is here...."
Fibber,
Now that I am home, I am calling today. I appreciate all of your concerns and well-wishes. I am glad I went right to the hospital, because apparently it was a pretty serious infection my body was fighting off.
Once I got home yesterday evening, I went to bed early. It was so nice...no beeps, boops, sweeps, creeps, needles, pills, vital checks, student nurses and residents, or other patients.
But my arms are still sore from all the pricks.

Glad that you are in upright position again, get some real good rest, but not to long, we need you badly.
Best wishes for your health.

Hope you get well soon !
You are right Rami--You sure cant get any rest in the hospital!
Hey guys,
I'm afraid the news isn't all good. My left leg developed a pretty massive edema from not being in compression for five days (they took the cast off at the hospital in the ED to look for evidence of a clot) in my foot, calf, and thigh. My measurements prior to this incident were about 27cm around the ankle and 39-40cm at the apex of my calf, near the knee. Today, the upper measurement was 51cm. So there's a ton of fluid buildup.
I am keeping my legs elevated, and hope it comes out through the wounds, or via my urine. I go back on Friday to have the compression wrap changed.
I also called the Mayo Clinic directly and spoke with the nurse who works with Dr. Bjarnason, the Doc himself may call later today. Tomorrow, I am going back to the hospital to send the discharge summary and the records from the CT scan and the ultrasound to the Mayo so they can get their brains together. I also have my doctors at the wound care center working on it as well.

Rami,
Hope all is going well from here on out. You take care of yourself and I hope you're back on the flight line soon.
Hey guys,
Since I just put my daughter back to bed after a nightmare, I wanted to let you know what happened. After all the testing came back, it turns out that I had a case of cellulitis on my skin, probably on my left leg, which somehow got through my skin or through one of the skin ulcers and found its way into my bloodstream, which is why my lymph glands were swollen, they were trying to hold the fort.
The symptoms I experienced that Thursday, if ignored, could have caused organ damage if I had waited. By getting to the hospital quickly and being put on heavy-duty antibiotics, my body was able to fight it off before things got really serious. By the time I saw my doctor on the 17th, blood sugar, cholesterol, kidney function, liver function, and my white blood cell count had all returned to normal, and the excess fluid in my left leg which stemmed from not having my leg in compression for five days has mostly abated. I also found out that I lost 13-14 points as a result of this, so there was a nice bonus for my troubles.
I appreciate all the concern and support!

Good morning,
Just so everyone knows, my leg has plateaued and regressed a bit, so I need to head out for more surgery at the Mayo Clinic after speaking with them a couple of weeks ago to set everything up. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, this will be a solo trip, but I will be staying with my cousins out in Roberts, WI. I'm sure there will be plenty of good times to be had.
I'm flying out on the morning of June 12th. The surgery date is June 18th, with a testing day on the 17th, and a Covid screening on the afternoon of the 16th. So I will be in down in Rochester, MN for about 72 hours, and then return the morning of June 22nd.
I will contact Shadow Wolf 07 and Devildog73 post-surgery to inform you all of my status.
Delta Flight #1314 BOS-MSP (07:20 - 09:26) 12 June, 2020.
Delta Flight #820 MSP-BOS (08:30 - 12:11) 22 June, 2020
I'm flying on Delta because it's direct; JetBlue suspended a bunch of their routes out of Logan International, including their direct BOS-MSP runs. I've taken all the precautions I can, including N95 filters for my face mask, and a window seat so that I lessen my contact with those in the aisles.
Also, it didn't help that I woke up screaming last night covered in sweat...I had a bizarre nightmare that the Mayo surgeon I’ve trusted with my life turned into Christian Szell, and kept asking “Is it safe?” as I was tortured on the operating table.
Needless to say I’ve been up since. I think this may be a sign that some anxiety is starting to creep in here.
