I just recently purchased the Warbirdsim P-51B/C Mustang
https://www.pcaviator.com/store/prod...1&cat=0&page=1
I love it - looks nice, flies nice, great sound, frame-rate friendly, lots of repaints.
FSX repaints are compatible with the FS2004 version.
Most of them need resizing to 1024x1024 pixels and changing format from DDS to BMP which is a little bit of work but well worth it.
Lots of Virtavia stuff is currently on sale at PCAviator.
I also got the MIG-21UM from Captain Sim last December.
A very old model (18 years) but nice VC. Actually the best Mig-21 VC in FS2004 that I know.
They also still sell the Yak-3 but it cannot be installed anymore since it needs a connection to a server that is not available anymore.
Promptly got my money back after a few explicit comments from my side.

Thanks for confirming that. I thought they were different but needed a second opinion
what’s the quality of the sky unlimited products, I found a site that sells the mig-3 and just came across the Bear Studios Lovochkin LA-9, I’ve got lots of bear studios stuff so I’m not concerned about quality being an issue.
Also from this post. I’m mainly interested in the fast(est) fighter/interceptors of WWII and maybe just after.
Thanks mate. I’ll look into that one for sure
yeah gotta pretty much all virtavia/alphasim on offer.
I was looking at that CS Yak, good to know to avoid. A shame really, looks wonderful
Was there a good payware F4U Corsair by A2A or anyone else? I know there’s some for fsx
There was a set with an overview of the history of the Corsair done by Aeroplane Heaven. It was similar to the Spitfire sets. I'm not sure they are still available.
There is a review here : https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/conte...Vought-Corsair
On my old PC I had the early set still installed. Quite nice considering they are 15 years old......
However there is something odd. At PCAviator the description form the package doesn't match with the images. The images shown are from the package offered at Simshack. As you recently purchased the set at PCAviator, I wonder which version you received. Was it the set with the droptank and "Shangri-La"in it. or was it the version with the bombs and "Bonny B" in it.Originally Posted by anels9

You are right, the images do not fit the description at PCAviator.

The description is correct. It has "Shangri-La" in the package.
All the models have drop tanks.

Thanks hawk_sh. Buying the same package twice only happened to me with MAAM's Briefing Time (version issues with Windows10) and the charity DC-2 Uiver (which I actually purchased 3 times
testing the wrapper....).
As it was/is payware, I can't share it. And as said it was installed at my old PC, so it might be gone, seen the age its doubtful whether I still have a back-up.
Cheers,
Huub
Which is the better payware model of Lancaster? JF/AH or first class simulations?
Yep the BFs are on my to buy list, already got the wonderful Me-262. I have a recommendation for you huub. The Sky Unlimited HO-229![]()
Completely forgot about the cloud9 phantom. Wonder if its even still available for fs9
I was quite fond of the JF Widgeon, https://www.justflight.com/product/g-44-widgeon
It is, c/o FSdreamteam

Bought some A2A planes, my god theyre fun to fly, especially with the realism settings to hard and following the actual procedures
I purchased a copy of the CS Yak-3 from Flight1 back in 2011 (having purchased it from CS a few years earlier) to avoid their over zealous/complicated anti-piracy measures. The Flight1 version used their wrapper DRM system so avoids the CS system all together :-) Unfortunately, Flight1 no longer sell the CS Yak-3 (I just checked) so glad I got it when I did.
Have your tried Flight Replicas aircraft? Their Bf-109s and Me-262 are really good. The Israeli version of the 109 - The S.199 - is real brute.

The grass is always greener on the other side...
But, it's just as hard to mow!
I fully agree with hawk_sh and rgatkinson! The Warbridsim P51 B/C and all FS9 Flight Replica models should definitely be on the list of best payware model.
The models from the WWII fighters set from A2A/Shockwave are among my favourites. And the A2A Heinkel He229 is definitely one of my favourites. Although the model by Kazunori Ito is quite nice as well. (Not so sophisticated however).
Perhaps not really a hot warbird, but for me the Aeroplane Heaven Tiger Moth set is quite dear to me. And the Aeroplane Heaven P38 is very nice (one of the best virtual cockpits!)
But most of my most precious models are actually freeware!
Cheers,
Huub
You wouldnt still have that pack would you?
And yeah thats what I think was throwing me off![]()
You can still purchase it here huub

Thanks, I didn't know it was still available. When you read the text it a bit funny again. Under compatibility is says "FS2004 only", however under features it is stated: "Full FSX model with self-shadows, specular maps, and bump maps".
Its a bit like with the Warbirdsim P51 set. The pictures there didn't cover the package which was offered.
From what I know the model is FS2004 and not FSX. However in the package there is a choice to install it in FS9 OR in FSX.... (will look at the FSX option later...)

Huub
What are peoples opinion on the P-38? The JF one seems good, as does the Sky Unlimited one.
I have the FR Me 262
What about the just flight mosquito for fs2004?
You can only find the package on cd used but Shockwave Productions Heavy Boomers and Jets
Also Shockwave WW2 Fighters on CD also
Shockwave was A2A prior to the name change.

How many different packs were made for FS2004 of the p-51? I’d like to buy them but am a bit confused as to which ones contain what, they all look the same
I'm gonna go with anything AH does and or done.... there's a fully functional P38J Demo. If you like to check it out. Curly Six just down the page abithttps://www.justflight.com/product/p...tning-download cheers mav
