P3D wont update,or even play

Hi All,hope that the great exprience of SOH can help me.
Im trying to update P3D from 4.3 to 4.5, so following instructions I am trying to delete v4 Academic client from my E drive, but it says "The folder path program Files contains an invalid character" ! It wont allow me to do anything
Its installed in E>Program Files>Lockheed Martin>Prepar3D v4. Other programs run OK from there but I cant uninstall,repair or even run it. Is there any way I can correct this without deletions & reinstall as I have many GB of add ons
I tried to install the new version directly over old version,wouldnt let me without deletion first

Are you uninstalling the client through the Windows Add-remove programs function?
