A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category P3D / P4D Add-Ons - Civilian repaints

Description: This repaint pack is intended to be used on Greg Pepper's FSX native converted CV-580s. This repaint pack represents Canadian operators of the Convair CV-580 as air tankers. Conair and the Government of Saskatchewan operate a number of CV-580s. This pack includes 9 repaints in total. 5 of Conair's 10 CV-580s; T-42, 44, 47, 54, and 55. And the Government of Saskatchewan's fleet of 4 aircraft; T-471, 473, 474, and 475. The CV-580 is based on the CV-240/340 family of aircraft. The 580s differ little from those earlier radial powered transports. The largest most noticeable difference being is the retrofitting of the infamous version of the Allison T56 turboprop engine to the wings. The engine is most notable for it's performance on such aircraft as the C-130 Hercules, P-3 Orion, and L-188 Electra. Due to the 580's similarity in aircraft shape and powerplant to the P-3/L-188 they've been called by some, "mini-P-3s" or "mini-Electras." The CV-580 is only operated by the two Canadian operators as air tankers. Their service with Conair, may be limited. Rumor that the phase out of the 580 for the Bombardier Q400 is rumored to be underway. Leaving Saskatchewan as possibly the sole operator of CV-580 air tankers in the near future. Conair operated 580s have come down into the lower 48 states of the US (and Alaska) on some instances. Most notably the USFS contracted a few aircraft to cover for a massive aircraft shortage in the US after policy changes by the USFS decimated most of the private air tanker contractors immediately following the devastating 2007 fire season, where the nationwide available large air tanker fleet had fallen from over 3 dozen to only 7 aircraft in the years immediately following. The CV-580 is capable of carrying 2,000 gallons of fire retardant or water.
