    FR B-24J Liberator WIP

Seeing as things are progressing, just thought I post a few more WIP screenshots, including a peek at the VC of the armoured-windscreen variant.

There is still a lot to do in the VC, it is not complete, and so please just view this as as an aircraft which is not quite at the end of the production line....

Also, some screenshots of some different paint schemes that correspond with this particular model of B-24: B-24J-140-CO

Once the VC is completely finished, it'll be time to move on to different versions.

    Mike

If that's the unfinished cockpit, I can't wait to see the finished cockpit.

It looks great. Thanks for the previews.

    Thanks everyone.

There are instruments to be installed, wiring, bolts, screws, oxy fittings, seat details, seat cushions, overhead curtains, structure and armour at the rear of the cockpit.... and then night textures for everything. Keep things busy for a while, especially trying to stay within the poly budget. 80% done, 80% left to do, as they say.

Anybody notice the fly-by-wire sidestick controls? And I thought Airbus invented those.... Although these had limited movement and were used to make long-distance formation flying a little easier, and used the autopilot to move the controls.

I was wondering what those were. That's very cool, I never knew about those.

Are you going to make the pilot look like James Stewart?

    Great Work

Looks absolutely super. If the rest of the work is the quality of this work it will be fantastic. I know of me and a few others with the money in hand waiting on the final result. Thank you for all of your efforts.

    Join The 461st

I hope all you guys who are going to buy the FR B24 will become part of the 461st Bomb Group with us when it is released. You will be putting all Mike's hard work to what it was designed for. Ed has completed the first 16 missions flown in April, 1944 complete with ai Axis Fighters and targets authentically recreated from after mission reports and Luftwaffe records right down to recreated weather for mission day in the server with Active Sky. Everybody will have the same weather using JoinFS. In addition working with the developers of FSCAI the ai bombers follow the mission and bomb the target as you can see in his post above. We tested it this week flying escort in P40s. Our home field of Torretta, Italy has the metal runways and with the help of FSDevelopers guys and Doug Dawson's sound gauge we have a realistic rumble as you roll across the runways, too. Come on and help us honor the "Greatest Generation" of guys who gave all so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. That's really what our 461st BG is all about.
