    Carrier Flightdeck Lighting

    Hi All
    I have been working on USS Enterprise CV-6.
    She operated night fighter/torpedo squadrons from late 1943 onwards.
    I assume she had deck lighting for landing and takeoff but I have no idea as to the details.
    In any case, I do not know how to set up lighting.
    Usio's ships have lots of lighting .fx files but how are they applied.

    e.g.

    This is part of JMK_Hiryu dp file

    [EXTRA.5]
    location=-9.7,13.0,77.0
    effect=fx_Light_Position_Red

    [EXTRA.6]
    location=-9.742,13.0,76.6
    effect=fx_Light_Position_Red

    [EXTRA.7]
    location=9.815,13.0,77.0
    effect=fx_Light_Position_Green

    [EXTRA.8]
    location=9.844,13.0,76.6
    effect=fx_Light_Position_Green

    [EXTRA.9]
    location=-11.606,18.195,0.112
    effect=fx_Light_Position_White

    [EXTRA.10]
    location=-16.572,22.794,-0.334
    effect=fx_Light_Position_White

    [EXTRA.11]
    location=2.19,10.02,-110.4
    effect=fx_Light_Signal_Japanese_Rear

    I do not anything about these effects or their application.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    Stuart

    location= should be from center of model, DPED says Left(-)/Right, Hi/Low(-), Forward/Aft(-) I'm going to guess the number are meters or feet.

    Jaxon did a complete tutorial on his website along with a download for the light effects. It's here:

    Thanks for the link Captain Kurt. I have been using Collin's (RIP) Essex Class in my campaign (they are well lit), but it's great to know how to light up the Yorktown Class carrier too. I've often wondered if it was possible.

    Hi all
    Thanks for the input.

    I have marked out two small areas on the rear deck of USS Enterprise.

    [EXTRA.4]
    location=5.564,16.433,-121.648
    effect=fx_Light_Position_White

    [EXTRA.5]
    location=-5.501,16.433,-121.648
    effect=fx_Light_Position_White

    Nothing seems to show?

    From my understanding the sim is looking for an effect 'fx_Light_Position_White'.
    I do not have this file.
    Any further ideas.

    Cheers

    Hi Captain
    There are none so blind as those that will not see.
    Spent a lot of time reading and missed the download 'here'.
    Cooking on gas now.
    Thanks
    Stuart
    CV-6 coming soon
