    Before Digital.

Having finally invested in a 'Pro Scanner' I've been working through boxes of slides from way back (mid 1960s) to not quite so way back (mid 1990s) with some pleasing results.
Can't really remember some of the fine details but the Motocross shot was with my first good camera (Canon F-1) and the Albert Park Historic meeting in 1994 almost at the end of life for my last film camera (Canon EOS), the latter finally phased out when Fuji-film and Kodak ceased production.

My youngest brother (closest bike) aboard his Greeves Challenger, a 250cc Villiers powered stroker. Shot on Kodachrome slide film a lifetime ago.

(Sir) Stirling Moss driving one of the few genuine 1959 Cooper Climax T51s at the 1994 Albert Park Historic event, using the EOS and Fujufilm ASA400 (IIRC!), not great but I was shooting between peoples heads at the time and guesstimating intervals.

Same event and my favourite 'Boys Own Racing Car', one of the first Grand Prix cars I ever saw when I was a kid. The Doug Whitford Talbot Lago T26, once again nothing special about the image, I just love the car.

And on to the horde of 'Black and Whites', for whatever reason Lella Lombardi accepted a drive in the 1977 AGP held at Sandown Park, to mark 50 years since the first Australian Grand Prix run at Philip Island.
Despite being stuck with an older Matich F5000 she was very quick and almost snatched victory from the 'men', finishing in P2.
And she was a very classy lady.
Scratchy old shots but they are part of Aussie racing history.

    Thanks Ferry.
All down to my Epson Perfection V850 Pro, it cost but it has really given me the impetus to digitize any and all of my decades old film and slide images.
Right now anything that is labeled 'Kodachrome' has been set aside for examination.
Epson have some trick software built into the scanner, especially their dust and scratch removal kit.
That shot of my brother on the motocross bike is at least 50 years old so you can imagine how pleased I was with the result.
This photography stuff is becoming expensive........

You don't say! With a fully packed bag I'm carrying roughly $10,000 AUD worth of equipment with me...

I'm adding to my expensive bag of photography 'must have' kit shortly.
After much deliberation and consultation with people who are far more photo savvy than myself I'm pulling the trigger on a low light lens......
Sofie is away for several weeks so I'm feeling quite safe!
I'd really like a decent wide angle lens as well, fortunately we have a couple '99.99% certain' buyers for two of our rebuilds, my cut of the sales should cover everything.
