Exclamation Collings foundation B-17...terrible breaking news...

    Hey guys,

I don't know much in the way of circumstances other than the fact that it was trying to land and crashed into a shed...multiple injuries reported, and described as a "fiery crash." I hope no one was killed.

It was the Collings Foundation's B-17 "Nine-O-Nine". There have been reports of multiple fatalities including passengers. I can't believe she's gone. I had the privilege of doing two walk through tours aboard her. Once in NY when we lived on Long Island and once here in Lynchburg VA. Our hearts go out to those lost and their families and to all those who helped bring this lady back to life and helped her fly again.

I was afraid of that. I saw it when they visited Raleigh in Oct. 2017.

Horrible accident sad day. Unfortunately last report I heard said seven dead / seven injured Rami.
Hard to believe she's gone. Pics were taken over the last few years.
Got to take a few flights on Nine-O-Nine / 909 over the years along with being part of the volunteer crew - it was an truly amazing airplane.
Thoughts and prayers to the friends and families of all involved in today's tragedy and the Collings Foundation.

It has been a regular visitor down here at KSSI. Very sad day indeed.

Very sad indeed, I visited her and the companion B24 about 10 or so years ago. I lost all of my photos thanks to the unfriendly neighborhood hacker. My condolences to the families of the victims.
