    More ships!

By looking at the developement schedule of our team and others, it looks like we're quickly turning into Ship Simulat3D very fast! We're getting ready to release our second batch of Nimitz ships this Friday. Nimitz Vol. 2 will contain CVN-70 through 72 with their full air wings, painted by Mr. Wynn's brush! We've also taken care to model the various differences seen between the ships, such as different hangar layouts for 70 & 72, the different antennae and hulls.

The ships are coming with more than 20 custom animations, many of which are user-controllable, pitching deck, IFLOLS, LRLS and MOVLAS simulation and their own NAVAID system, currently compatible with our Phantom and Dino's Skyhawk.

Customers that already own Nimitz Vol.1 will be able to acquire Vol.2 at a discounted price.

Last but definitely not least, we recently announced our partnership with Haze Gray Studios, the creators of Fleet Traffic:US Navy. The package features the entire modern-day US Navy roaming the world's oceans and will be rebranded as Carriers Extended:US Navy (CEX:USN for short) and released under SWS. The package will come with 250 ships enhanced with CEX features, including static planes & helos. Speaking of the rotating air subjugators, CEX:US Navy will debut with helicopter landing aids, created with the generous assistance of a fellow SOH member who is quite knowledgeable on the matter.

Fleet Traffic:US Navy will be withdrawn from sale entirely, but will be available for existing owners through SWS. The new, upgraded release will be made available to owners of the legacy version at a reduced price through SWS. We are ironing out the last few wrinkles of this product and will follow up soon with more information on features, thee migration and pricing plan.

    Hi Alex,

I really wish you would bring back the SWS Forum. I just received an alert from Just Flight about a new Phantom version I otherwise would have no idea was available. But there is more to this. I really don't fly the Phantom or think about SWS much these days. When you have a members forum, the conversation and sharing of what others are doing with the product keeps it more in one's mind's forefront. Ideas of user mods get shared. That creates fun. Group enthusiasm is generated and maintained. You had that for a while but it is gone now.

Yes you have a Facebook page, but I really dislike using FB as much as possible and the FB format of stream of consciousness just doesn't cut it e.g., a useful search function vs. a forum like this one where users can run down issues and troubleshoot problems themselves by searching for - and finding - quick solutions that other users devised. While we all know running a forum can be a pain, so is having to use a ticket procedure for every little problem, compared with community self help solutions. B/t/w - I like the Phantom and Coral Sea it came with, but I forget I have it I believe because of the absence of a forum where I can daily check out to see "what's happening" and if there is something new or fun to try out other user’s are doing.

    Sincerely and respectfully,

    expat
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

Expat, that is a fair point you are bringing up.

We already have a knowledge base with listed known issues and solutions for it along with the ticketing system. We also have a Discord server for chatting with us or with each other.

The reasons we didn't put up a forum are:
    1) Unofficial/user solutions: if they don't work, they tend to backfire at us. Thus we would rather take direct responsibility of issues
    2) Maintenance & monitoring: For such a small team, it is hard to stretch out and monitor FB, tickets, developement and Discord already. Adding a forum which, unlike the rest, requires maintenance, updates and monitoring is already huge.

Personally, I do love the foray and even though I dont post much, I frequent them to see what's happening. But we want customers to come for help to us first, not after a user has messed things up more.

Therefore, we will bring back a forum, but only for communal reasons and after evaluating you guys' opinions with a survey, which will come soon via e-mail.

I am glad you stirred the pot early and expressed your view early, though. I am sure there are more thinking alike and we would like to get that feedback.

"Customers that already own Nimitz Vol.1 will be able to acquire Vol.2 at a discounted price."

Will this be only if we bought Vol.1 at your store? Going to be getting it, regardless.

Also watching for the Hazegray/Fleet Traffic update.

Currently, Vol.2 is only available on our store and the discount only applies to customers that buy from ours.

When it is released to other venues, the same will apply there too, provided that website allows such policies.
