VL Myrsky II for Fs2004 and CFS2

    Hi Folks,

A taster of the next ac, another gem built by Chris Lampard, a VL Myrsky II. This is a rare Finnish built ac of WWII to late 40's era. Chris and I have been trying to get details on this, emailing various Finns, but no reply...don't you like us Finland?! lol.

Chris has done his usual superb job on the model and tex, I'm just doing the panels etc, so not long now.

    Cheers

    Shessi

That's a sharp looking airplane Shessi. I appreciate the effort you and Chris put into building this model for FS9/CFS2. Thank you.

Its a handsome looking plane. I must confess I had never heard about it until somebody mentioned it to me.

The model looks absolutely great, beautiful paint work by Chris

    One to look forward to!

This is why I keep FS2004 installed!
I might have an article in a very old copy of Air International, I'll see if I can find it Shessi.
IIRC it was mostly wood construction but like I said, checking first!

Beautiful aircraft! Forgive me for sounding daft, but why do their aircraft have swastika’s? Was it to confuse the Axis pilots? Thank you for the aircraft and your time. All the best, Jeremy

Actually the Finns used it first, nothing to do with Axis forces, its an ancient symbol of power that was hijacked by the Nazis.

    Rami,
    Thanks for the thought.

    Pete and JBM,
Also the Indian cultures used it as a symbol of well being as well....that's good ol' nazism spoiling it for you!

    Wombat,
Yes, mostly wooden with a metal framework around the cockpit and engine.

    Cheers

In fact, during the war, to avoid such confusion, the Finns switched to the blue & white roundel that they still use as their national insignia today. But they still use the swastika for other purposes, like on unit insignia and so forth.

I've long believed that we should use the swastika whenever we can to take it back from the Nazis. Sadly, there are still enough Nazis around to maintain their association with the symbol, so for the time being it remains theirs.

Pardon me, shessi, when will the VL Myrsky ii will be uploaded?

    NOW!

Ha, I just uploaded it and then saw this...so go get it.

Another beauty by Chris, and something very rare and different.

I've added LOD's and 3d/VC panels and a drop tank version.

    Cheers

    Hi Folks,
A minor glitch reported by a couple of people. There was a spurious white light seen, I thought they were seeing things and going mad! Had a good look over the source file and found the culprit. Removed on both mdls, and re-uploaded, nothing else changed.

Is it possible to get this airplane to be compatible with FSX/P3D?

As is, should be compatible with FSX, and might be with P3D. The simple answer is to give it a go, if it works..great, if not...you then know!

Thank you for this excellent aircraft! The Finns of necessity were very resourceful. A later aircraft, the VL Pyörremyrsky would have been a very good fighter had the war lasted longer.
