Description: Avro's demonstrator G-AARZ

Second of a batch of 13 Avro 621 Tutor aircraft built by A.V. Roe & Co. Ltd., Newton Heath, Manchester between 1929 and 1932. Test flown in "Class B" registration markings as "K-4". First registered as G-AARZ 29.10.29 (C of R 2308/C of A 2562) to A.V.Roe & Co., Ltd., Newton Heath, Manchester (aircraft based at Woodford Aerodrome). Retained throughout its life for test flying, and as a sales and demonstration machine. (The airframe being effectively the second prototype of three: G-AAKT was the first, and G-AATU was the third). Was used by Cobhams Flying Circus on their South Africa tour, in 1932, and was written off (damaged beyond repair) 10th June 1934, having 'spun in' during aerobatic contest, Vincennes, Paris, France. Pilot, was Captain Placido d'Abreu of Portugal, fatally injured.

It would appear from photo here ----> https://www.flightglobal.com/FlightP...20-%200612.PDF that it gained the blue/silver scheme similar to G-ABZP , in time for this competition, if the photo caption is correct; but I've painted it as seen here ----> https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/201507
