    DG design hunter texture update

Hi all, been working on updating the paintkit on dave's fantastic hunters. coming along nicely until now,I need heavy intel on UK stenciling, lets say stuff that are not already on the net as i scavenged it sideways the past days already. I'm seeking mainly top and bottom stenciling, maybe some of you guys have valuable stuff that could help.
In the meantime here's some of the result.

heavy work on the surfaces detailing, plus shadowing.

mainly on mk 58/68 for now but it'll do for britsh hunters too.

VC had some light upgrade too

for now i'm moving to belly staining, but i really need some stuff to achieve this .
    Cheers!

    Speak of the devil...
I made my first flight in FSX this year over the weekend... DG's Hunter out of Payerne and through the Alps

Yes my favorite is Ulrichen, with the "canyon" approach.

some new shots of a late english hunter

Oh, I'm so looking forward to this.

I fly the RAF and Swiss versions primarily also, so really looking forward to this. If you do anything with the RAF two-seat T Mk 7, esp XL600, that'd also be hugely appreciated.

Glad to see this. DG's Hunters in Switzerland are a blast - Ulrichen, Raron, St Stephan, Ambri.
Striker, listen, and you listen close: flying a plane is no different than riding a bicycle, just a lot harder to put baseball cards in the spokes.

hi, been busy splitting individuals models, customizing cfg and all.

    here are the oldies f1 f2 f4.

    and other f-6

it appears that i can't get ultra shiny paint to work with alphas so i guess i'll stick to camos.

    cheers!

Wow - these are looking superb. Love how the 54 Sqn Hunter is coming - that's going to be my favourite of the RAF birds.

On that 54 Sqn Hunter on the ground showing the landing light - what effect or light are you using? Looks like Shockwave ... ? Looks great, whatever it is.

Great improvements to the VC too.

    thanks in advance for this.

hi, yes landing light is shockwave "landing light old", the original red n green lights are better though, i prefer the shockwave white tail light .

    here are some F5:

been doing some makeover for older birds pilot oufit too. Swiss Mk58A pilots get a grey helmet.

    .

thats about it, have to resolve the stenciling issue and it will be over.

last stuff for those who want to get a front free castoring wheel instead of the driven one, go to the aircraft.cfg, go to the contact point section, and change the max deflexion of the first line from 60° to 180°, and you'll get it.

    cheers

    hi speed silver done:

sadly , although i use a different method than the classic dark alphas used for metal textures, metal paints don't allow a large range of grey options either. the real hi speed silver is a little blueish than this one but the result was way off so that's gona be it.

    chears.

    Awesome!!!

    Those two-holers look superb.

Are any of the FR/GA11 764 or 738 Sqn Lossie single-hole birds on your radar, as it were?

What a way to breath new life into an already great model - thanks for your work on these - they'll be deeply appreciated.

basically the goal is to make all variants in at least one livery.
so yes navy boys will get their turn. But remember the classic way for shine seems not to work on this model, so navy's shiny though lovely dark sea grey may not render as good as we'd like.

hi, here we go first one is classic dark alpha shine, and.... nope it ain't shining a bit. With the amount of darkness i put into this alpha it should shine like a diamond in a goat's ..... that's some model export stuff that i don't do.

here is with the metal paint derivative method:

that's about the best i can achieve with those shiny paint scheme.
the metal paint method i created is not very permissive and works great only on metalic paints but here it's not the best way to do it.
    Sorry!

    Superb.

I'd have settled for whatever approach you took - but the last set of shots looks perfect to me. Thrilled to bits.

No worries. Like I always say, work this good is worth waiting for. As a small aside, I've not yet installed the Hunters in P3D, so I'll hold off until this is done and hope everything works well in that sim.

Regardless, thanks for a great upgrade project.
