    Butterflies.

Playing around with the new camera and lens in a local 'butterfly zoo'. Really happy with the new gear!

    Nicely photographed Ferry!
    Fascinating little subjects as well.
You've inspired me to drive the 100K+/- up to our Zoological Gardens in Melbourne and try to do the same.
Winter is still full on and I needed to find something I'd really enjoy photographing, be another six weeks before our Spring kicks in.
    New camera setup?
    What are you using now?

And a PS: I'm looking at Olympus, not committed to anything so far but they seem to be impressive!

Well, after almost ten years working with my Canon 7D I thought it was about time to find a replacement but that wasn't easy.
Apparently there will be no 7D Mark III, and the 7D Mark II is basically already five years old (Still not bad though).
The 6D Mark II would have been a step back from the 7D (And it seems a step back from the Mark I!) but it would be a full frame camera.

So I bit the bullet and spent a lot on a 5D mark IV and a 24-105 lens. Still using my old 100-400 tele lens, which still works well, might even be sharper on the 5D.
A free battery grip (That fits the batteries from the 7D as well.) and a cashback from Canon made the deal a bit easier for me.

Not a butterfly, but couldn't resist this Tree Bee - taken with an old Olympus and 35mm macro....
