    Gotta Love Thunderstorms

A couple of months ago we had a nice electrical thunderstorm.
Power surge killed both HDs in both my computers.
Had to have both reworked and re-installed OS; Win7X64 on gaming, Win10X64 on office.

FORTUNATELY I had most of my BPF and other CFS2 installs on my laptop, but none of my new work to upgrade Meridian and Iceberg.
Still had the older versions from which to work, but lots of new upgrades gone.

I'm back in the saddle now and will be downloading newer stuff from the library to get things going again.

BTW, talked to the Rami and everything went well for him.

He should be back in the basement in the next few days.

    Rami 1 , you zero .

It's really frustrating to lose work you have spent much time on, I'm sorry to hear about that.

    D,
The biggest and most important question is..have you now got a UPS (Uninterupted Power Supply) or surge protector now fitted?!

Without doubt the very least you need is a good quality surge protector, which will stop such things happening, but the best is to have a UPS with built in surge protection. This UPS not only gives that surge protection but also gives you a limited power back-up, allowing you time to save/back-up data. Neither are very expensive, easy to fit and saves all this heart ache...a real must.

    Cheers

Yep, Shessi, I have a UPS. Every Time someone sneezes in our area, the power hiccups or goes out.

    Question

    H,
Is that 'had' or 'now have' a UPS?

    Guys,
Had/have a surge protector on the electrical plug-in.
I think this one came through the LAN cables.

Also, I got Meridian up and running and looking great. MB is fine and working.
On Iceberg however the MB gives me the below "Failed to initialize" error.
Anyone know where to look to get it working again?
Campaigns are up and running. Scenery needs some work as I lost the add-on buildings and decimated Tokyo scenery after the firebombing of down town.

I have had a UPS for a long time. Not a UPC
    APC brand.

I found the "Failed to Initialize" error.
My OBJECTS_DP folder must be too big.
I did a fresh install for BPF Mission Building.
MB worked fine until I copied and pasted my Iceberg OBJECTS_DP folder into the new install. BANG, no MB: Failed to Initialize.
Deleted the entire folder, copied and pasted the pristine folder from my original untouched CFS2 install and voila, MB is back working.

I will spend the next few days whittling the folder down by eliminating CFS1 objects and removing ETO objects not needed in the PTO, especially the main island of Japan.

Reducing the size of Descript.dat, mdlnames.txt, and OBJECTS_DP did the trick.

I now have fully functional MB in Iceberg install.

However, the first TF_37 mission the AAA took out my landing gear.

Belly landed on my carrier and caught the first cable with my hook....
