    (Very) Nice one again Pete. When somebody says "what if" I always have a problem, because I immediately start to think about the possibilities, advantages and disadvantages .

    I know absolutely useless! But in this case I think the sturdy looking Duck was a better choice than the more graceful AVRO, as I think it appealed a larger audience. (I know; useless comment )

    I believe the actual reason for the 'Duck' being used was because it was the only floatplane type the producers could find at the time.
