100m grid facilities

I came across these while I was researching on object dimensions and wondered who did them and why? It does give me an idea from the object dimensions question though.

Well presumably they are just an aide to help with object placement when building a facility? Once the facility was compiled presumably the grid would be removed?

That could be. In fact, similarly, I am using the idea mainly for length-width measurements of objects to place on a Gmax file for making airbases. Eventually I'll post a list of the ones I've done and Frosty has some for stock buildings.
