    North Texas Regional Alternative

The idea came to me as an. . ."I should have thought of this a long time ago". . .epiphany, lol.

Since I did not keep the original FSX default textures when I installed Orbx, I've never been able to correctly alter the colors of the satellite imagery to match the default for those who don't use Orbx products. The image below is a suitable alternative though. I removed the imagery and the autogen, added a simple airport background and then set to work adding back parking lots, roads and autogen to get the necessities to make it look the way I wanted. I still have a few things to tweak, but if anyone is interested I can make this available in a few days.

Personally I like this. . .enough so that I'm staying with this rather than the version with the photoreal ground texture and hand placed autogen vegetation.

Looks like you might be the only recipient, lol. I thought there might be others, but maybe the Orbx and other payware product users far outweigh those who still run default, lol. Easy enough then, I'll just zip it up and send you a link via PM.

    Hi Ed,

Living just down the road in Plano, I'd sure be interested! I'm a regular visitor to your KSWI (and other N. Texas airfields).

    Regards,
    Michael
