Repaint request for Alabeo Staggerwing NC80309

I have tried and tried to figure out Corel's Paint Shop Pro 2019 (and even two earlier versions,) in the limited time I have to work on it. This old dog has really slowed down on learning new tricks. Anyway, I have a request to ask of the repainters in this great community. Could someone do Beech Staggerwing NC80309, a beautiful green and red aircraft I was privileged to see and take a few photographs of, while talking to the owner at EAA Oshkosh 2011. Unfortunately, I was so busy talking, I didn't even think of getting a full on view, because I had (have) an inflight shot from the web. (And, it was my first time to get to go to Oshkosh, and I was busy!!) I would surely apprecieate it if someone could do this one. I'm sure it would be a popular download.

    Thanks in Advance.

82 views and no comments. Apparently no one else would like this paint.

Unfortunately, all the tutorials I can find about painting Carenado / Alabeo aircraft start after the instructor made his layers, or combined, or rearranged the textures to get things to line up. Or, they started with a model that already has a paintkit with layers, saying they will cover making the layers later, but never get back to that.

One tutorial starts by using a previous paint coloring the texture sheet using "hue/color/light" but only shows it in a 3 second shot, and then goes off on another project, never explaining what he did. Anyway, this is the result of my first try. This aircraft uses 4 external texture sheet, all were colored using the same numbers.

Yes, I know NC80309 is a G17, while the Alabeo model is a D17. Unfortunately, we do not have a G17 Staggerwing available.

Sorry i dont have that model ive wouldve helped as it would be relativity quick and easy

For painting it convert a similar paint to bmp and trace it in the colours you need

As for the all white templates make a new raster layer and be sure the white base is the moved to the top and set the blending properties to multiply and do all the painting below that layer

Me, I would copy the similar paint bmp under the base as a new raster and then then trace it in a new raster layer

When your ready hide the other paint layer then save it

Thank you for the reply Matt. I will give your suggestions a try. I'm having trouble just getting the basics learned.

I can do it, but I fear you will have to be patient

You can find most of my repaints for FSX/P3D in the library here on the outhouse.
For MFS paints go to flightsim.to

Thank You, JanKees. I was hoping you would chime in. I have, and use, all your paints, especially the Staggerwing. I can wait.

I will keep trying to figure out how to do it, being very slow in figuring out the program, and painting in general. Corel Paintshop Pro 2019.

I use the white textures, I put them in a layer ABOVE my paintwork, and set that layer to 'multiply', that's all.
