Rince33,
I am tickled pink that someone is flying and commenting on all of this work! I am currently working on the Battle of France. I will include these updates at some point in the near future!
Thanks,

Howzit Rami, read about your BOF mod and I'm really looking forward to it.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to pass along an update; I am currently in the final stages of fine-tuning that "lite" GSL file and getting rid of a lot of unnecessary gobs to cut down on the file size. Project savings in terms of objects overall is 50%.
There may be a couple of areas where you will still have problems (Central London, Rotterdam docks) but overall the results should be much improved.
I hope to have it completed within the next several days.

Hi
I have made a fix for the floating cliffs, it's a new model, take a look, let me know what you think.
You can find it in the cfs2 magazine issue 4 Nov/Dec 2012 http://thefreeflightsite.com/CFS2_Magazine.htm

That's great work Rince. Here's an alternative tile designed to blend in with the surrounding tiles.

Howzit Robert John
I've downloaded the latest issues. Great magazine by the way, lots of useful info. I've placed the Practical Flying pdf on my desktop for breakfast reading tomorrow morning.
I first downloaded the BOB package back in 2015 and remember there being missing objects. In 2016 I got involved in some modding for Bob2 wov which kept me busy for a while. Last year I revisited the CF2 forum and was pleasantly surprised by the easy to install Bob package which I immediately downloaded and installed.
I found some issues of your magazine that I downloaded back in 2015 on my external hdd. I had completely forgotten about this site. Thanks for the reminder. I'll install the new cliffs model asap.
By the way do you know if there is any way to prevent the "mission objective failure" window from popping up and ending the mission prematurely?
Last year I mucked about with the mission builder, trying to find a solution and got the impression that this was hard coded and could not be changed. I remember this frustrating the hell out of me in 2015.

I recently tried "august 1940- biggin hill stuka prowling" and experienced the failure window. I have all of the Bob mission packages installed and in the past randomly selected single missions to fly. It would be great to be able edit those missions with that function, so that it can be removed. Other than that your missions were brilliant, thanks for taking the time to create them.
Just one thing would make cfs2 bob perfect, mouselook. In cfs3 I used a program called mousetrack ,but it doesn't seem to work in cfs2. I used it in conjunction with Facetrack noir. I'll give it another try, just to be sure.
Thanks e.a.wicklund, your version looks much better, have it downloaded.
Rince33,
Give me a list in this thread of any missions you have trouble with, and I'll have a look once my grad semester is over. I can also send you the Battle of France package if you want to test some new stuff.

It's 12 after midnight where I live, so its off to bed I go.
Hey Robert - Installed your fix. It looks great. Thanks for that.
Rince - I've updated the Mark_2 texture a tad. Screenshot with Robert's cliffs follows:

I've been trying the BoB missions "August 1940" from the BoB team. On every mission so far my wingmen crash/explode on takeoff.
I take off just fine and finish the mission. Still it would be nice to have some friends.
What's going on with them?
Never mind then. I figured it out.
E.A. Wicklund,
My apologies, I was away for the weekend. This is an issue I am continuing to have in the Battle of France at certain airfields, mainly Merville and Vitry-en-Artois. I have not found a solution yet, but am working on it. I'm still having a lot of issues with AI crashes on landing. Oddly, it does not happen with the Gladiator and Lysander, primarily the Hurricane and Spitfire.
If I find a solution, I'll be sure to let you know. I'm also looking at the performance of the Hurricane and Spitfire.

No worries. Life happens.
It turns out the trouble was my fault. I had diddled with the .air files as is my long-time habit with CFS2. Part of that process is moving the CoG until the plane flies hands free at cruise. I think moving it, so affected the AI that they nosed over on takeoff (during landing too).
Eventually, I had to find a different .air file for the Hurricane. Even putting the original aircraft.cfg back didn't help. It's fine now. Spit is working too.
I've noticed the Bf109E is too fast (311mph at sea level). It should be 290mph. The Hurricane is just right, or close enough. The Spit...slower than the Hurricane (250mph at sea level)! It should be 288mph at sea level.
I'm not certain if these .air files are the originals or not, so I blame me and my compulsive fiddling. I am working to resolve these issues right now. If you're interested, I could send you the revised .air files.
Rami,
I am reinstalling (From your site) in a new, clean install and I am missing the files ,"add to scenery.cfg", the "airbase.dat, the "add to mdlnames.txt" and the add "gsl" file. Not sure if the auto installer had a "hiccup" or I did.
Jim,
From Part II, right?

Yes but installed it into a temp folder this time and found it! I don't think I pushed the right button the first time.
Jim,
Good. Thanks for double-checking!
