Will CEXv2.0 be available for the Midway package?
Will the new tech (pitching deck, ...) be ported as well?

Yes, it comes with CEX v2.0 and supports certain features such as pitching deck.

    Thanx Alex

So is the CEX v2.0 and other features support in the v1.45_20180217 version of Midway or will there be an update?

    Best wishes

Thanks, that is a great news!

So, in terms of major features, what will be the additional features of the Nimitz with respect to the (updated) Midway?
    Cheers

Very briefly? Check it out for yourself here. It's now available.

Thanks Dave, but that does not answer my question, maybe it was not clear... The link lists the new features of the Nimitz, but it does not say which of these new features will also be available in the updated Midway.

    Cheers

EDIT : just noticed that the Midway update is available now, so I'll find out by myself!

A screenshot I took aboard the OUTSTANDING USS Nimitz, with Razbam's A-7E. I worked on this particular aircraft at Pax River! NC

I haven't been able to produce a changelog yet due to Mr. Murphy's law attacking all SWS members with things like illnesses, internet and power outages for the past few days. I'm not joking... That's why we didn't release on time!

To answer the question: the CEX framework for both the Nimitz and Midway is identical. However, Midway's only real new feature is the pitching deck and some minor improvements such as better control assignments for the elevators (you don't need to bring up the gauge anymore), autoland support for the F-4 and the tiedown feature that will secure you on deck if you want to leave your PC for a few minutes.

The Nimitz has the AI, more animations, better shooters, the new deck editor system and 19 NAS with shore-based FLOLS included, as far as the major highlights.

I would like to ask a question myself, and that isn't only towards you but towards everyone: What do you prefer, more carriers or new features? Yes, I'm blatantly asking the market for its pulse! :P

    Alex,

Speaking for myself I would like to see a WW2 Essex class carrier with some of the features that the Midway and Nimitz have.
There is only one (1) payware quality WW2 carrier out there (no longer available anywhere that I know of) and that is the
    Vertigo Studios CV6 USS Enterprise.

    Thanks for the precision.

Regarding your question, for me : more features! like AI traffic (take.off, landing, formation flight with AI wingman), deck activity, TACAN/ILS working for all planes, simple carrier route planning utility (spawning a carrier while in game is a pain...), etc... The last CEX update (2018) was a very good move, but many of the new features were not properly working (TCN/ILS, save a flight with carrier, ...).

    LUA

Someone released a FSUIPC LUA for the Phantom so we can control the radar from the front seat. Do you know where I can can that file again?

Didn't know about that. You can use the arrow keys to control the RADAR from the front seat.

In the past I could trim elevator pitch with a scroll wheel on my X52 throttle which is programmed to the ELEV_TRIM_DN / ELEV_TRIM_UP key commands. That does not work anymore on my end, the only way I can trim the pitch now is using the AFCS. Does anybody know how to control pitch trim manually in the new version? In the VC, clicking the trim button on the stick only does trim the ailerons left/right, not pitch.

    Thanks, Henk.

We're using ELEV_TRIM_UP/DOWN normally. Using the secondary hat switch buttons on my X-52 works OK, but didn't set it up for an axis.

Alex, thanks! I have figured it out now, apparently the new version needs a lot more keystrokes per unit of trim. Once I got used to it, it works perfect because it is possible to make very fine adjustments now.

Yep. The trim and autopilot have been redone slightly! :P
