According to Wiki, the Kriegsmarine was the navy of Nazi Germany from 1935 to 1945. It superseded the Kaiserliche Marine of the German Empire (1871–1918) and the inter-war Reichsmarine (1919–1935) of the Weimar Republic.
I just use KM to denote the German Navy.

Thanks Stuart, I didn't know about the nomenclature for the 1919-1935 period. I have a bad case of "Kaiserlische Marine" on the brain lately.
