but then the superiority complex on display in every last xplane forum I've seen just naturally lends itself to this kind of discourse.

I hope they can manage to appreciate your efforts in a manner fitting to your expectations, Bjoern.

FS2004 BEA Douglas DC-3. Textures for the default DC3

Could it be adapted to the MJ's C-47 ?

Now that Western is almost done. I'll paint BEA on MJ's DC-3.

I look forward to seeing any and all DC-3 airline liveries you care to create - thank you for your efforts, Gary

Sigh. The highest priority has a rewrite of my MITool in Lua for that bit of purpose in flying, then there's a univarsal Lua script to punish mishandling of engines, then there's Lua-based fixes for the C-47 I'm using (note a pattern there), an update to the default (Gateway) TXL scenery and tucked away in Blender is the L-39C awaiting a rebuild for XP11.
    No rustbuckets, nothing revolutionary.
As good as the base sim is, the community (sometimes) tends to display unprecedented levels of idiocy and therefor, I'm not expecting much in terms of appreciation once I throw any of this out.

    Lol - poor guy.
one of the reaons I like to fly the old Aerosoft Hughes H-1 is that it has an engine management requirement, albeit basic AF - but it has one...not to mention the skill required to get it airborn and landed successfully, sans tomato crop.
sorry to hear that all flightsim communities were created so damned equal in both temperament and cognition. Ah well - most artisans and engineers are really in business for themselves anyways, proving to themselves whether or not they ‘can do’ this or that. If someone else manages to appreciate the work even partly it’s a bonus and not so much the goal. Or is that just me?

Spot on. If not for intrinsic motivation, I wouldn't bother to spend a good part of my (unpaid) time on all that stuff. A bit of honest appreciation is okay, but popularity only builds idolization and expectation.

Lovely repaints Gary . I particularly like the BEA livery. Most likely as it flew in my part of the world. Or perhaps because it reminds me to this aircraft....

This picture is actually the start of a quite sad story........

    Cheers,

They went bust in 2002, Seemed to be a charter operation for the DC-3 only.

The plane will survive however, will not fly again yet plan is to fully restore it.

Working on G-ANAF. This one is still in service out in Prestwick. In 1988 was purchased by Atlantic Air Transport and was being used for MoD contract work for Thales as a radar test bed and was later used for pollution control fitted with spray bars.
