    Executing wingman baton transfer on account of my P-51 is experiencing engine and navigation issues. The navigation issues being you can only navigate to the scene of the crash with no engine.

    So that others may benefit from my FUBAR, the problem was carb heat. I thought it might be, but the AF P-51H doesn't have a carb heat switch. The manual refers to it, but they didn't put a switch for that in the cockpit. What would have worked, however, was the H key... . Never even thought to look up the key command for carb heat. Not until after Canadian Air Sea Rescue fished my frozen butt out of Great Slave Lake, that is... I didn't tell Canadian Air Sea Rescue that, though. I told them I ran into a [frozen] turkey buzzard. They might charge me for the rescue...
