    Image posting at SOH

I had this figured out once and now for the life of me I can't remember how to get rid of the duplicate image when you post a pic here in the forum!
Getting older can cause significant issues!

You could do as I do, and use an image hosting site. I use this lot here.

    See? Nothing to it.....

As I do too. FWIW I came to the conclusion that a subscription service worked for me instead of what passes for 'free' hosting.

thanks for the comments guys, and the awesome pictures too.
I do have a paid hosting subscription too, but have been uploading some pics to SOH as well.
Somewhere here on SOH there is a setting to get rid of the duplicate picture but i can't find it!

I'm with ImageShack and all I do select 'copy image' and just 'paste' it into a post.
No duplicate file and as I understand it the image is not a drain on our resources as it's 'linked' to ImageShack' (I think).....

I think you are right, when you insert an image using the "insert image" button, or adding a picture as attachment, there is a choice which will cause the image to duplicate itself when you click or unclick it...... I though it was called "do you want to save a copy on the server" (and the answer should be "No")

Now if I could only remember where I saw it..................

    Cheers,
    Huub

    To get just one image:

    1. Select the "Manage Attachments" button. It's below the editor you use when making a post. You might have to scroll down a bit to see it.
    2. On the Attachments form, top right, select the "Add Files" button.
    3. Click "Choose File"
    4. Browse to the image and select "Open".
    5. Click the "Upload" button.
    6. When it shows up at the bottom, select the "Done" button, bottom right.

I think you can upload up to four images this way. But, if you select more than one, they will appear as thumbnails that you have to click to expand.

Also, all the images you've uploaded previously will be available to select, if you want to re-post one again.
