    Ok, no expert here, far from that...just noticed that no effect when starting engine on Avro planes(using P3DV4 only) and looking at effects folder
    fx_engstrt.fx
    fx_engstrt_cub.fx
    fx_engstrt_DHC2.fx
    fx_engstrt_fw190.fx
    fx_engstrt_jenny.fx
    fx_engstrt_ME109.fx

    so, tried to change aircraft.cfg to fx_engstrt.fx and now I see some smoke, whatever the reason...wonder if P3D adds .fx at the very end because some planes have their specific engine start effect with the .fx at the end. Please enlight me. Much obliged.

    Thanks a tremendous truckload again for bringing the cowlings Tutor to P3Dv4 now too, Nigel and Ulrich ! Also thanks a lot for making the needed corrections here and there, gentlemen ! Much appreciated !

    A thread about Nigel's matchless masterpiece without screenies doesn't look right to me so please allow me to set that straight.

    THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN, GENTLEMEN !!

    Cheers,

    Hi Beaufighter,

    The effects in the "Effects" folder do have an .fx extension.
    But, in the files "aircraft.cfg", do not add it to the name of the effect.
    An example, the aircraft.cfg file of the F-22 of the default P3D v4.4 flight:

    [EFFECTS]
    wake = fx_wake
    water = fx_spray
    dirt = fx_tchdrt
    concrete = fx_sparks
    touchdown = fx_tchdwn_m, 1
    EngineFire = fx_engfire_f18

    However, these files have the extension .fx in the "Effects" folder of P3D.

    Best regards
    Jean

    Hello Ulrich,

    For P3D v4 what are the files to download?
    The first two (conversions) or the next two (new models)?

    Best regards

    Hi Jean,

    All four files can be used in P3Dv4+.

    There are no separate versions for FSX or P3Dv4,
    they are all FSX natives with xml gauges.

    All converted model versions will work in FSX and P3D 1-4+ .

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Part 1 is the the FSX native AVRO Tutor port over model
    Part 2 is the needed texture pack for AVRO Tutor port over model
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Part 3 is the FSX native AVRO 621 port over model
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Part 4 is the FSX native AVRO 621 Trainer port over model

    Best regards
    Ulrich

    Many thanks.

    It's a plane very easy to fly.
    More easy than my old Druine D5 turbi.

    Hi all
    If you want using the mini panel and if you cannot see it, try this in the panel config file :

    [Window04]
    Background_color=0,0,0
    size_mm=828,150
    position=7
    visible=1
    ident=15555

    gauge00=NR_621!AVRO_621_altimeter, 9,11,120,130
    gauge01=NR_621!AVRO_621_ASI, 141,11,120,120
    gauge02=NR_621!turn_slip, 288,11,120,120
    gauge03=NR_621!AVRO_compass, 433,3,120,140
    gauge04=NR_621!inclinometer_621, 569,10,120,120
    gauge05=NR_621!AVRO_621_rpm, 705,10,130,140

    Hi mpni,
    That works like a charm.
    I have changed the panel.cfg accordingly with the last update.
    Thanks a lot.

    Ulrich

    FYI
    I have just updated the download files.

    Last update 27.01.2019 00.15 or 0.15 a.m.

    I hope to have corrected all minor bugs now.

    And for the statistic

    The current downloads in numbers for the FSX natives

    FSX_native_AVRO_621_port_over = 527
    FSX_native_AVRO_621_Trainer_port_over = 488
    FSX_native_AVRO_Tutor_port_over_Part1 = 290
    FSX_native_AVRO_Tutor_port_over_Part2 = 245

    Cheers

    Hi
    I donwload the four files and install them after deleted the old folders.
    These are the last small remarks because all work fine in the 3 aircrafts.

    Avro 621
    OK

    Avro 621 trainer
    aircraft.cfg line 468, InitialZoom = -0.3 must be InitialZoom = 0.3

    Avro Tutor
    If you want to see the compas in 2D windows by clicking on it in the virtual cockpit, (as you can do it in the Avro 621 or Trainer), add this line in the Panel.cfg [Window03]
    gauge00=NR_621!AVRO_compass, 0,0,284,286

    Thank you very much to Ulrich and Nigel for these beautifull airplanes, must to have.

    Thanks

    I am sure that your next creation will be as beautiful as this AVRO. (Perhaps an aircraft with a hook).
    Good continuation for our pleasure.

    Oh no, Michel ,there is a misunderstood

    That is not my wonderful creation.
    Nigel Richards and Team has created this beauty

    Model Designer: Nigel Richards
    Textures: Nigel Richards
    Flight Model Design: James Banks, Milton Shupe, Pete Collis, Keith Paine
    Gauges: Roman Stoviak, Nigel Richards, Keith Paine, Microsoft
    Sounds: Nigel Richards
    Special Effects/Gauges: Roman Stoviak

    My humble part was only, to convert this FS9 model to an FSX native format, nothing more.
    All credit goes to Nigel and Team.

    Ulrich

    Hi Ulrich
    Thank you to Nigel and to the team.
    But converting a FS9 model to an FSX native format is also a big job, especially if it also goes perfectly under P3Dv4.
    Good continuation in that way.

    I just HAD to take the Tutor to St. Barts... and in doing so I found that she slows down incredibly well. After a couple of circuits and bumps, I thought it was time to stop for tea. She's not slow until the slots (slats) pop out and even then with a hand on the throttle and ready feet on the rudder bar, she's a thoroughbred. Does it look like I had a good time?

    The CORRECT ANSWER is YES

    Ta- Nigel & Ulrich!

  25. #50
    Ha, that's exactly what i did yesterday.
    I've checked the new published St Barth 1.1 scenery
    with the AVRO and had a lot of fun.
    Two heads one thought.
