Icon22 Need sandy wave-less shoreline texture

    Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anybody knows of any sandy wave-less shoreline textures that can be used in G2K for making VP1 line/beach polys? I know we have a wavy sand-less texture but I need sandy wave-less.

I have been using VRbankSU [Texture 8001 ]for this purpose and it looks okay but still a waveless sandy texture would look better- I think.

Maybe some kind-hearted soul could possibly make one?

    Thanks,
    MR

    Hiya KD,

    Thanks very much!

Yes, indeed. Those are awesome. They look like they should be perfect!

Are the ones you attached ready to be used- properly masked, alpha-channeled, mip'd and so forth?

Where did they come from? Did you just make them or were they already available in CFS2 or from some custom package of textures?

I would want to add them to my OwnLines.txt file. Could I rename them KDR-waveless-beach1 and KDR-waveless-beach2?

BTW, just out of curiosity, the file extension shows as bmp when I hover my cursor over them, but they download and save as jpg. Is that standard for images posted in forum threads?

    Best regards!

    Hi Chris,

I'll email them to you as the forum changes them to jpegs. One texture possibly came from Pactex2 by Otis and the other was a modification of it. They are not my work.

    Cheers,

    Kevin

    Okay Kevin,

    Thanks.

I dug up my PacTex folder and think I found them both-

The first was inside my "Downloads\PacTex2\pactex2c\Pacific Textures 2c" folder
The second was inside my "Downloads\PacTex2\pactex2e\Shore" folder

Wow! That is such an improvement!

I will for sure need to go back through recent projects and swap out some shoreline textures. Excellent!

Thanks again Kevin. That was a big help!
