Icon22 Bristol F2b Fighter released by Ravenna!

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - World War I

Description: This model of the Bristol F2b Fighter was made by Frank Elton. I have tried several avenues of contact to ask for his permission to upload this model to the Outhouse library. All of these attempts have been unsuccessful. I was, however able to contact Gary Jones, the creator of the Falcon engine sound for this important aircraft. I thank him for his generous permission to use his sound package here. Thanks also to No Dice for permission to use the F2b panel found at the Free Flight site.

The Bristol F2b was one of the most successful aircraft of the First World War. Despite initial losses caused largely by a lack of appreciation of its potential and ruggedness, the F2b went on to become a much loved mount for many RFC, RNAS and RAF pilots.

This model is based on the aircraft preserved by the Shuttleworth Trust. As such it has the later lengthened exhaust pipe. Earlier F2Bs had an exhaust pipe which ended just in front of the pilot's position.

The robust and reliable nature of the F2b led to its wartime nickname "Biff". Postwar it came to be affectionately called "Brisfit" by its crews.

The DP includes a typical bomb load, although many "Biff" missions involved escorting bombers on tactical and strategic missions.

My repaint represents B1112, crewed by Captain C. Jones and Major C.F.A. Portal MC, 22 sqn., France 1918.

The original texture represents the aircraft in the Shuttleworth Trust collection.

    Enjoy,

    Ravenna

The face on the gunner says "I'm too old for this line of work!"

Thanks guys but I only added some paint and did the gunstations and loadouts in the DP. A doddle compared to the upcoming Zeppelin Staaken.

Kurt, I got your PM asking me to send you the images I had. Did you get my email?

Just realized that I forgot to include the gauges for the panel, so here they are.

Andrew, if you are recuperating, could you add this to the F2b?
