Hey guys,
I was able to do more today, and am feeling better now that I was able to get some food in me. However, I am still having some intermittent problems with nosebleeds, they ended up packing my right nostril, and also I have three stitches in my neck, because the insertion point on my neck was still oozing more than 24 hours after surgery. I will get them removed after I return home.
But I am alive, and am on the mend, slowly but surely.

You're on the way forward! And that's the right direction.
Take care my friend,

Amazing what medical science can achieve.
Seriously though, glad to hear that you are past this first stage. This time next year you'll be a new man.
Good afternoon,
Here is the full skinny for those who want the whole kit-and-kaboodle...
I am doing okay. The surgery went well, they were able to do a venous angioplasty that dilated my venous system to 18mm, which has significantly relieved some of the pressure on my legs. It was too dangerous to do both (putting stents in) at the same time, for the reason that if my veins were to re-constrict with the stents in it could cause serious complications. So I will likely have to fly out either in January or February to be reevaluated.
I had some unexpected problems with nosebleeds, which required two trips to the emergency room the same night after I was released. The nosebleed was significant, lasting over four hours and would not stop on its own, requiring them to pack my right nostril, which has not been pleasant. I should be getting it removed when I return home. I was also bleeding from the surgery's entry point, my jugular vein, so they ended up having to put three stitches into my neck.
Further, I also found out that while I do not have a hypercoagulative blood disorder, (meaning there is a problem in my blood that allows it to clot easier than normal) I am showing some minor heart problems that will require me to take high blood pressure medication after returning home. Knowledge of the former likely means that my blood clots in both legs were likely the result of the unknown constriction, not the supposed blood disorder.
They should remove the packing and check the stitches on Wednesday morning when I visit my doctor's office back in Brockton.

SO VERY HAPPY TO HEAR ALL OF THE GOOD NEWS,
It has inspired me a bit to write a mission for the Viet Project:
Operation Rami:
We must make a raid on the VC, they are attempting to slow down our major artery
of required supplies...This will be a Surgical Operation led by Doc Mayo and a follow
up of our Boston Crews. This mission will be followed up with operation Boston
Marathon.
I will leave the rest For Rami to finish.
Be safe and heal my friend,
Dave

Good afternoon,
Feeling so much better now that the damn nose plug is out. I honked this morning and felt a "kathunk," and no bleeding followed. I felt 5000% better almost instantaneously.

No Dice,
I am happy to report that yes, all is well. I actually feel better now and have more energy than I have in ten years. I also noticed that the swelling in my legs, especially my left leg, is way down, and that the wounds are continuing to shrink and itch like crazy, a sign of quick healing.
I went back to work on Friday, and although I'm still easing back in to normal operational load, everyone I'm running into keeps telling me my color is much better, and I am completely relaxed. Apparently, it also dramatically changed my mood for the better.
I am seeing my PCP on a monthly basis until I go back out to the Mayo in February, and am continuing to pay attention to what my body is telling me. But at least for right now, I feel fantastic.
