    Best of luck, Andrew.

Here's hoping the tests turn out as you hope and everything goes smooth and easy!

Nothing like a little time spent among loved ones and family at the Holidays to put one on the mend- just don't be wearing your MAGA hat at the dinner table!

    Cheers,

    MaskRider,

Thanks for the well-wishes, and I have no hat of that sort. By the way, I don't ever discuss politics over food. Booze, yes, but never food.

Actually, I'm a little concerned about the weather here in MA tomorrow morning, snow changing to sleet, heaviest around 9am. It looks like we're getting out before the worst of it, but still, timing is a bit dodgy.

    Good morning,

Onboard JetBlue Flight 835. The snow makes me a little nervous...

UPDATE: We are having to be de-iced. Now I’m regretting watching all those Air Disasters episodes...

    Good morning,

Finally cleared turbulence and clouds around 30k. Cruising at 38,000ft, but have a 195mph headwind, so ground speed is only about 335-340mph.

If we were in a Swordfish, we’d literally be flying backwards at least at highway speeds.

    Good afternoon,

Made it in about 10:30am or so CST. And we are now in Rochester, MN, checked into the hotel. Testing is tomorrow morning and afternoon, and I will be in touch tomorrow evening to let you know what they have decided to do.

Good luck and best wishes to you Drew, remember you are in an excellent place, one of the best, to have any medical procedures conducted. Cutting edge rings a bell.

Rami, you're in great hands there at the Mayo. Although the timing may not be ideal, they work wonders.. About Smithsonian's Air Disasters.. I've recorded most all of them and I can categorically say, not sure it's good to know WHAT could happen. Sometimes, Ignorance is Bliss....Get well, may God bless you and yours.. Merry Christmas..... Good evening,

The fourth time has appeared to be the charm; I am having the stent insertions done tomorrow. I report to the hospital about 11:00 am CST, The surgery is expected to take approximately 3-4 hours, and I will be in some discomfort for a couple of days afterward. But then, unless something goes badly wrong, I'll only need to fly out at 3 months hence, 6 months, and one year from now for checkups.

I or another SOH member whom I contact will post an update tomorrow evening. Thanks for all of the well-wishes and positive thoughts!

    Update from Rami

Rami called me this evening to say they successfully put in the stents and all is well. He does say that he has a stiff back (he probably accidentally laid down on a Viagra pill ) and that he was physically and emotionally drained. He was headed back to the hotel to rest... He also said he would probably not be on SOH tonight but wanted you all to know he is okay.

    Good morning,

I just wanted to let everyone know that they were able to put in the stents, which makes the procedure permanent, however I will still have to return for checkups at three months, six months, and a year from now.

Although my back remains a little tight and I feel like am walking around like Igor (eye-gore) from Young Frankenstein, I'm in far less pain than I was expecting. They're going to check my neck and remove part of the bandage on my neck today when I go back to the Mayo if all goes well. I did not have any bleeding problems last night.

The only bad part was they put in a catheter during surgery to prevent me from having a distended bladder from the dye they were using, but I forgot about the consequences of that...until I had to urinate. That hurts worse than anything else!

    But I'm doing okay.

Really good news Rami, in fact, 'bloody good news' as we might put it here in Oz!
I really found a catheter to be quite a bonus, just lie there and let the snake drain away with no need to go potty!
However, the removal process is not great.......you get the wax and water treatment! (As in the wax comes out of your ears and the water from your eyes).
And to return to the more important aspects, the minimal or no bleeding is good to know as well.

    Wonderful Andrew!

The fact that you're walking around so soon is great news.

I hope you will be out of the hospital before Christmas Day.

    Kevin,

They discharged me at 6:15pm last night, not even an overnight stay. I guess that means I’m a quick healer.
