    Sopwith Schneider

Have just uploaded this aircraft. This is not an original work by me but a fourteen year old model for FS2004 by Craig Richardson. It is such a suitable a/c for both HMS Campania and HMS Ben-my-Chree that I converted it to CFS 2 and added a dp. UncleTgt, as usual, has done the heavy lifting by sorting out the panels and providing four new textures.

Is this Schneider as in Trophy? A very interesting aircraft; looking a lot like the Sopwith Tabloid. I love all this First World War output and particularly like the USNAS paint. Thanks for such a rich and useful stream of aircraft and ships Baldy and Uncle! Feeling a bit frustrated that there are no WW1 seaplane bases on the English, French and Belgian coasts. I'm slowly making my way up the coast of WW1 Belgium and looking for a mole to suit Zeebrugge.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Aircraft - World War I

Description: A small British floatplane adapted for war from the 1914 Schneider Trophy winner. Carried out trials on HMS Ben-my-Chree and HMS Campania. Also used in early efforts to intercept Zeppelin airships even to the extent of mounting two a/c on submarine E22. This experiment was unsuccessful. Thus aircraft served with the RFC, RNAS and the later RAF.

This model is a conversion to CFS 2 from a FS2004 model by Craig Richardson in 2004.

Actually, the USNAS skin is a bit of a cheat, the photos show her sporting a 4 bladed prop, but I got carried away...
