    Coming To Your Hangars Soon....

Team Daedalus is pleased to announce that we are close to releasing our latest effort, a rework of Paul Rebuffat's Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 model. Using his model as a framework, we have updated and detailed his original model, as well as adding new parts and ideas of both our own and others.

This project was originally developed for CFS2, but as a way of saying "thank you" to all who have so generously adapted their FS2004 models for CFS2, we have reciprocated, creating dedicated FS2004 versions of our models.

There is no "standard" Bf 109G-6, as the production run spanned 2 years underwent modifications and updates along the way, so each model we have created has it's own unique features. Captain Kurt has created paints for each, and Mav has been SCASM editing each model so that they have "working" slats, drop tanks, and other features, as well as optimizing models for the best possible framerates.

As we get closer to release, I'll try to provide more details.

With thanks to all who have offered help and support,

    Paul

Yes, but keep in mind this is a CFS2 model, and I'm not familiar with the bells and whistles of an FS2004 cockpit. I've updated Paul's cockpit, but kept some of his design philosophy, including a visible pilot. It's not incredibly detailed, but you can fly from the VC with a full squadron against a full squadron without framerates slowing to a crawl. I realize there is not as much of a call for that in FS2004....

    More Screenshots.....

A few more screenshots. We've incorporated many new improvements, including a variety of engine cowlings appropriate to the type of engine each aircraft was equipped with, a variety of tails, and also drop tanks for those models so equipped in service. While we are starting with the Bf 109G-6, we will have other late-model Bf 109Gs as well.

Please be aware, however, that the texture files for the new models are quite different from Paul Rebuffat's original texture files, so unfortunately, older paints will not be usable with the new models. On the plus side, the new texturing allows for better detail, especially on areas such as the top and bottom of the fuselage.

At this point we are ironing out a few issues with panels and other small details, then we will begin to release them, so stay tuned!

    New Mapping....

Just an idea of what we are able to do with the new mapping, and a really great set of textures.

Be patient Mav. When the model is released, the announcement will become a sticky. Until that moment you are free to bookmark this thread in your own browser.

Just to update this thread, we are currently anticipating a mid-October release of the first models in this series. At this point we've moved beyond the 109G-6, and included other later variants as well, including the G-6/AS, G-14, G-10.

    The wait is almost over.......

Thanks for the laughter, guys. Glad I'm not the only one with a *ahem* different sense of humour.

Been following this project this past month, hoping to give her a go if you'll have a model with a set of skins without that tail symbol (yeah, am one of those people, Sioux me) nor a huge, garish stars and stripes on her side. Have long admired the Bf-109, fine German engineering. If not then so be it. Thanks for your considering this.

    Love, Davida
