I may have to get a new rig to run it. Would I just be able to get in and free roam without having to dogfight? (Not that that wouldn't be fun too!) I really like this livery on your rendition of not quite polished aluminum. Fantastic! Looks like it would go well with Randy Ball's similarly painted MiG-17PF that he flies at airshows! (I wonder if we'll ever see any civilian owned Farmers flying?)

Sure!! It has great variable setting,What do you have to lose but a little install time?

Release this month? I'm in! Can hardly wait to fly it. Hoping we also see a Mig-17F in the not terribly distant future as well.

Oh boy, I'm beginning to foam at the mouth over this one! lol! After doing my reading up on the actual aircraft, I have a feeling I will need to stay over the airfield as bad as I am an Afterburner Hog! What's the saying in the Mig-19, after 5 minutes of cumulative Afterburner use, you better be looking for a place to land. That's me!

Sweet! Will be ready to buy it! Can you advise how much the model is complete is far as systems, weapons? I assume it's sort of an open beta (mostly complete). It sure looks good!

This from one of The mission builders

"Hey guys,As I am currently building the training missions for the Farmer, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts.
First a disclaimer: I NEVER flew any of the Russian jets. I wasn’t interested. So when I was asked to do the training and build some missions, I was hesitant but thought I’d give it a try.
And as soon as I did I had what @PaulRix is describing: I fell in love with it. The cockpit and the model are stunningly done. It is massive inside, you feel like sitting in a tank (especially in the VR). It is crude and advanced at the same time, with lots of gauges and buttons. I have to say at this stage (so pre-release) nearly everything is working as intended.
So for those who love Soviet jets, you will fall in love with it. For those who don’t - you will fall in love with it. I’ll make sure to make some nice content mission - wise (probably not a campaign at this stage, but a good training and some SP / MP missions for the MiG-19). I’ll keep you posted, I will also be posting progress on the training and mission building on my Facebook Page

DCS World is actually surprisingly good performance wise. With my previous PC which was running an intel 2700k and GTX 980 I was able to run VR with DCS World with very smooth and consistent performance. I never measured frames but it always seemed like it was between 30 and 60, even in huge battles with 50 aircraft and ground units etc.

It is a lot of fun to just fly around in DCS World, and even the free default aircraft are really well modelled and full featured.
"Try to stay in the middle of the air. Do not go near the edges of it. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space. It is much more difficult to fly there".

NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE! Am so looking forward to this bird and learning it like I always wanted to. Takes me back to that old 1/72 scale Heller Mig-19 I got at Christmas of 1979, ever since that Mig has intrigued me.

Oh darn, was hoping when I clicked the DCS news today that the Mig-19 was going to show release. Oh well, guess maybe next week or so when they are sure she's ready to go. Am eagerly awaiting!
