    Harvard

Hi, Which is the best AT-6 Harvard Texan out there? We are building a Harvard sim & want to get it as acurate as we can, flight model, sound, panel etc.
There is a panel cut-out, so I'll be using Panel Studio to move & re-size gauges to fit the holes in the dash.
    How is the Aphasim Harvard?

    Many thanks,
    Robin

Ask Martyn, T6Flyer, for a definitive, he has more hours in one than me, but my own preference having flown a real one is the Alphasim one.

    I'll post pictures later

Thanks, I have the Alphasim as well as the SkyUnlimited Harvards, & I'll stick to the Alphasim one.

The VC viewpoint on both, is set too low I find, so always adjust that ... see

Indeed funny, as this is the FS9 forum and the A2A Texan is FSX model and even not a Harvard......... And to answer your question, yes I have heard from A2A and they used to make nice warbirds.....

    Sorry I couldn't resist.......

I most certainly will take pictures. I hope that the moderators do not mind if I post the pictures here instead on in the cockpit builders site.
Cutting a long story short, I managed to get a 25 year old Frasca (from USA) Harvard simulator. I had to pull out all the hardware as it was 25 years old & redundant.
We took out the gauges & will be fitting a screen behind the panel, & will be using Panel Studio to move gauges around to populate the holes.
We are using a Leo Bodnar card as an interface, & after a good few hours, we have the control, gears, rudder, mix & props working. There is obviously so much more to connect up. (FSUIPC is essential)
Also, all the existing wiring within the looms are white, so it is quite a challenge tracing where they end up.
At the moment, I'm using a laptop with FS2004 with the Alphasim Harvard as a proof of concept, & she flies very well so far.

So, if OK, I will post more info & pictures here, to keep everyone in the loop.

    Cheers,
    Robin

Thanks, Huub, I'll post in about a week, after I've been back to the sim that is at our club house.
