    Icon5 Baytower RV7 Van's Aircraft compatibility?

    I just installed P3D V4 and I am just ecstatic about it. Most all my FSX-SE aircraft installed and function well but Baytower's RV7 and RV7A crash the system. Have any of you found out why this is and if so, please share your mods that made it work? This is one of my favorite a/c (and I'd love to have one in RL!).

    Thanks!
    Obie

    No takers on this? I thought we had several enthusiastic Baytower RV7 drivers among the faithful. Should I have posted in the FSX forum?

    If you problem is P3D 4 crashing, I suggest posting in the P3d 4 forum.
    Very few people read the 1 through 3 forum anymore.

    If you go to Avsim and search for Baytower RV-7 fix you will find all the to do things to make it fly in P3DV4.3

    The excellent RV-7 from Baytower only works if you disable the GTX transponder which crashes P3D.

    I've uploaded several bits and bobs to make the RV7 fully compatible with P3Dv4. Namely the 'Bitchin' Betty' who wont shut up, the baked on cockpit shadows have been eliminated (Original PSDs were sent to me by Danny Maher) and the switch sounds. The transponder now works and doesn't cause a crash.

    - Can someone tell me what the file "simV4.xml" will do?

    - Additionally:
    I have sound for all circuit breakers (pulling/pushing) but any sound on the switches like
    BAT, ALT,AVIONICS
    NAV, STRB, LAND, WAG, PITOT
    I wonder what I could have done wrong?

    Addition:

    After deactivating
    gauge05=btsRV7!simV4, 0,0
    and going back to
    gauge05=btsRV7!sim, 0,0
    the sounds for the switches are working.

    Regardless, what was the file "simV4.xml" supposed to do?
    (This is P3D v4.3)

    Thanks for the link Ron. I don't use P3d yet but the baked-in cockpit shadows were a pain in FsX Dx10!

    @Ron
    Sorry for asking again:
    I installed the stuff of "RV7 switch sounds.zip"
    I now deleted the file "simV4.xml" and I also deactivated
    gauge05=btsRV7!simV4, 0,0 activated the formeroriginal gauge05 line.

    The aircraft is working properly, click and other sounds are available.

    So still no idea what "simV4.xml" should carry out?

    Oh, well, sorry, all clear now:

    - in btsRV7.CAB is a file called "sim.xml".
    simV4.xml does the same.

    As this is a P3D v4 thread I'm moving it to that forum.

    Not just me. Bert Pieke, who discovered the whereabouts of Danny Maher so I could snaffle his original PSDs and who also did most, if not all, of the configy bits. Cheers Bert

    To all of you then - my grateful thanks

    Wow, thanks for this thread. Now that I practically fly P3DV4 exclusively, I never thought I would be flying this again. Another great install for the weekend.
